Superstar Ryan stepping down/considering retirement.

Just in

Long Politico article.

Quote:
undertaking, particularly in an election year. But Ryan has good reason for throwing caution to the wind: His time in Congress is running short.

Despite several landmark legislative wins this year, and a better-than-expected relationship with President Donald Trump, Ryan has made it known to some of his closest confidants that this will be his final term as speaker. He consults a small crew of family, friends and staff for career advice, and is always cautious not to telegraph his political maneuvers. But the expectation of his impending departure has escaped the hushed confines of Ryan’s inner circle and permeated the upper-most echelons of the GOP. In recent interviews with three dozen people who know the speaker—fellow lawmakers, congressional and administration aides, conservative intellectuals and Republican lobbyists—not a single person believed Ryan will stay in Congress past 2018.

He is real quick to spend money, but very slow at pushing the conservative agenda. He's one of the best players on the Democrat's team. He's a proud RINO. Here is an article I found that sums him up pretty well

He's going to get tax reform done, his biggest goal since being elected to Congress. He's going back to Janesville to raise his kids, a priority he has always talked about. He will do the talk show circuit to bolster his image away from the House crazies. He'll probably run for governor and then use that to springboard to a run at the Presidency.

Congress is going to get more crazy, not less in the coming years.

Couple of things. Ryan is tasked with actually governing, you know, passing this stuff. What gets passed in the Mulvaney budget world that Obama signs?

Second, is that the same Mick Mulvaney that recently said, "We need to have new deficits because of that. We need to have the growth..."

It's remarkable the freedom to spout nonsense when you come from a gerrymandered district with no responsibility to actually govern or pass legislation. Any ****ing yokel can come to DC as a Congressman to bitch, moan, and complain. Show me somebody who can pass bills and then I'll be interested.

Is that not what I just said. He is quick to spend money and is one of the best players on the Dems team? Anything will pass if you give everybody everything they want. That's not leadership. This is just my opinion, of course

I'm not familiar with Mick Mulvaney. I don't know if he said that or if he did what the context was.

He's the guy in your link blasting Ryan and then came back and made the quote I mentioned in the context of the current tax reform bill.

To this I would add, he was drafted into the Speaker role as a compromise, it was not one that he actually was seeking.

Real reason is Ryan, knew about that Pakistani IT guy, Awan who worked for Wasserman Schultz and who had access to virtually every email of House members, and he did nothing about it.

Ephesians 2:8-10

English Standard Version (ESV)

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
