I only watch the NBA Playoffs and (a little) of the NCAA Tourney.

It would be awesome if he NBA shortened their season. If he games counted more I might start watching.

This. There is no argument to be maid for the college product over the Association. None.

From trying to watch it a few times. My wife likes to watch the late games on TNT becasue they put her to sleep.

The playoffs are what make the NBA watchable.

No, but I've always wanted to. I think OKC or Utah are my likely destinations.

I went to a Rockets/Bucks game - middle of the week in Houston. Atmosphere was better than any college game I ever been to.

I had second row tickets for the preseason game between the Heat/Thunder at Sprint Center. I bought them before LeBron signed. That ended up being one of the coolest sporting events I ever been to, mainly just seeing LeBron and Kevin Durant. The one reason I bought the tickets, Wade, got hurt the game before.

I hear you on that. It's kind of like baseball. There are so many games that it doesn't feel like one game is going to be earth-shattering. It's not like football where I feel like if I miss one game, that I missed the world. Or college basketball where you only get to see a matchup once or twice the entire season. If you miss a game or two here and there in the NBA, it doesn't feel like a huge deal.

That's not a knock on the NBA. I think you're right, though, that the NBA regular season can just never measure up to college basketball regular season.

This. College BB is dramatic, but it is an absolutely putrid product.

The reason Green struggled last night is because the Heat played actual defense. They've been on-and-off lazy all series long. Green got open more often than he should because a Heat defender got lazy and let Green sneak open.
Green struggled last night because they picked their poison, and it was Tim Duncan rather than Danny Green. Instead of sinking down into the post to front and double Duncan they adhered the most basic of basketball rules, don't leave a shooter, and since he isn't a guy like Allen or Reggie Miller who uses screens and movement to get his shots, and he can't create his own shot from off the dribble, he struggled.

Unbelievable.
Its crazy.

Yes and no.

This is an excellent breakdown of why Green was getting open. You're right that he doesn't get open the way Reggie or Allen does, but I think you're undermining his basketball IQ. He is terrific at playing within the system and you're right, while the Heat "shut him down" they had to compromise their entire defensive approach to do so. That was not one of the Heat's strongest defensive performances. It would have looked a lot worse if LeBron hadn't been on Parker, and Bosh didn't come up strong out of nowhere very late in the game.
