Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

When I was doing my research, I was steered away from RRA. You might as well get the CMMG M4 for $850 - but they're so popular, you have to be kind of lucky to catch it in stock, so you just have to keep checking. This Sig is my 1st gun and I'm extremely happy with it. I still need to invest about $1000 more into it before I consider it done... but I'm in no rush. The grip pod was my main thing, just because it's so much easier to be accurate with that grip.

P.S. Also, if you get the Sig, I'd advise to go ahead and get a couple Magpul mags because the stock one is crappy as hell (that's the one I have in the picture, but the replacements are in the mail).

Yeah, the mag that they had with it felt really cheap. So, what was it with RRA that steered you away?

Nothing specific, they just don't seem to be very popular with the 'experts' on the gun forums, as I didn't really know much about guns, I was just reading a bunch of old posts on the forums that came up in my searches. The RRA M4 was my immediate first choice (but I think the one I was going to get was like $1050) just because they looked so nice on their website.

This will probably be my next upgrade, although I'll wait and justify it as a birthday present to myself.

Question for the AR braintrust on this:

Magpul offers these stocks in "mil-spec" or "commercial-spec" - how do I know which one to get? I have a DPMS Panther Oracle. I've checked the manual, DPMS's website and the rifle itself and haven't been able to find anything that indicates what it is one way or another.

EDIT - I figured it out.

She is sweet, man, you will not be disappointed. I got my Magpul PMAG 30's today (the ones that show you the ammo level), probably going to go shooting with my new grip pod and the new mags next weekend.

Any certain favorite ammo you use with your Sig? From a price POV, this looks good - http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_s...oduct1185.html - and the reviews seem good.

I've only shot 300 rounds through mine and I have 200 left. I bought 500 rounds of Brown Bear because I didn't know that lacquered steel is not the best thing ever for your gun.

Just a reminder - as April 15th approaches, Buy A Gun Day is upon us once again. I'm thinking of a small frame Glock like the 19 or the GAP 45 version, the Glock 38.
