The Mavs were better, they beat them in 6. Isn't that the deciding factor? How else would you judge it?
It's not about you being right or wrong. Hell, Im always wrong. I know it seems like cherry picking, but you have completed changed your opinion on this series over time. Probably due to homerism.

No, what I'm telling you is that the Heat changed their style and system significantly after the first year. It's part of the reason why LeBron's efficiency has shot up, particularly the last two years. They became much more of a well oiled machine (with Spurs-like ball movement) instead of a bunch of talented individuals playing for themselves. They also brought in more guys conducive to LeBron's style of play. Sure, in the Mavs series, they had the superior talent, but they didn't play at all then like they did in the following years. I didn't know anybody even doubted that.

I mean, do you remember when there were debates about who should get the ball at the end of games on that team between LeBron and Wade? That shit ended after year 1. It became LeBron's team and LeBron's ball in those moments after that point.

Go back and read his quote. The biggest point he made is Jordan won his titles in 6 games or less and he never lost.

Which is the basic problem with the Heat playing the Spurs, the Heat is essentially running a streetball team attempting to emulate the 80's Lakers. While the Spurs are playing as a professional B-Ball team fundamentally working towards a goal.

The primary point was that he was 6 for 6 in finals (which basically rewards him for not leading a team to the finals earlier than he did and hurts those like LeBron who advanced through the playoffs). Those Bulls teams didn't really have any equals, though (especially in the last 3), so that other stat isn't too surprising.

No, the Heat WERE that (which is my point), but they aren't that way anymore. They visibly changed over time:

Quote:
This won’t surprise you: The Miami Heat have one of the best offenses in the NBA. But as entertaining as it is to watch the two-time defending NBA champions execute, it’s been equally fascinating to watch them evolve. The Heat’s approach to scoring has changed drastically over the past few years. Just ask LeBron James.

“No one cares who shoots,” James told me. “We went from a team that played a lot of isolation basketball to [being] first or second in the league in assists. Everyone on the team feels so comfortable offensively. We get the ball from one side to the other side, shifting the defense then attacking it or spraying out for 3s.”

Scoring in the NBA is by no means easy. But when James is on the floor, Miami sure makes it look that way. The Heat are currently averaging an insane 111.9 points per 100 possessions with James on the floor.1 It’s convenient to suggest that Miami’s proficient scoring is merely a byproduct of its talent, but that overlooks a remarkable transformation in the team’s philosophy and system. Yes, Miami has several gifted players, but as we saw last season in Los Angeles, talent alone guarantees nothing in the NBA. Teamwork and intelligent schemes are still required. Getting players to collectively generate value rather than just contribute as individuals is still the hallmark of winning basketball; it’s also the hallmark of the current Heat offense.

His point was MJ was so dominant of a player he never needed 7 games and he never lost because of his dominance.

And anyone who is honest knows that the competition in the East then is nothing compared to the shit fest it is now. Those Celtics teams he faced earlier in his playoff career were one of the greatest teams ever and then there will never be a team like the Bad Boys again. I imagine if those Bulls teams were playing in this day and age they would sweep through the playoffs and win the Finals in 4-5 games. Be like taking candy from a baby.

And that he went 6 for 6 in finals. In fact, that's what he led with in the quote and what I took issue with due to the lack of logic of it.

They were awesome, but I'm not sure they would clown this particular Spurs team quite like that. Jordan was certainly fortunate to have such a great team around him, though, I know.

They still are when they are backed into a wall it's not a team game in comparison to the Spurs. The Heat rely on two players which are Lebron and Wade in every way possible during the season to now which is why they are running on fumes.

No, they actually aren't. They're playing very much the same way with LeBron creating good shots and opportunities for himself and others. The Spurs are just better than them in nearly every aspect.

And they didn't rely on Wade at all this year, he sat out 30 games during the season specifically so he would be well rested for a series like this (LeBron carried them instead). It didn't end up mattering, though, because he's a complete shell of his former self.
