Buying a Digital Camera
I bought my wife a Panasonic Lumix digital camera about 2 years ago and the camera's severe delay taking pictures has become annoying. I've changed the SD card to a faster one, tweeked settings, nothing has sped this up.
I'm in the market for one now. I'd like to get one thats compact and takes fast, clear pictures for her with some bells and whistles (wi-fi for uploading). My price range is around 300. Any advice would be appreciated. Last edited by The Bad Guy; 10-16-2013 at 03:38 PM.. |

I prefer Nikon over Canon, but here is a good deal:

I'm more looking for a compact camera for her since she puts it in her purse. Should have said that in the thread starter.

Regarding point n shoots, I think they're all going to take good photos for the most part, depends if you want super zoom or not, I suppose. I'm partial to canon http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerSho...dp_ob_title_ce |

I've had a Cannon EOS SLR for about 10 years. It was an investment-but well worth it.
I have a 300mm zoom lens and a few other smaller lenses. My girls are in dance, plays and gymnastics. No matter where I am-front of the auditorium or the back, I always get the shot. It adjusts to light changes, auto-focuses and is clearer that a pocket camera of the same megapixel. It has NO delay and will take 3 pictures a second. Great for dance moves. I don't remember now much I spent-lets say 500.00. Also bought a photo printer that day. So over 10 years, that's 50 a year on a camera. Good investment.

Probably best to snap some pics of your girlfriend or wife and post 'em up; just to be sure.

If looking for compact, could look at the mirrorless compact cameras like this one.
