*** 2014 Prospects: Chiefs Visits / Met / Work Outs ***

Hello, friends; It's that time of year again.

3 years ago, this thread had a few guys that we selected in the draft. 2 years ago, this thread had 4 of our 8 draft picks. Last year we got Kelce, Fisher from the visits we recorded.

Last year, around this time, the big question was the QB. Dorsey and Reid did their homework, and spoke with almost every legitimate candidate. After this, they chose to make the trade for Alex Smith. Conversely, we brought in almost no Safeties or CB's, and ended up picking up a bunch in FA.

This should help us get an idea not only for the draft, but also to get an idea for what positions Dorsey and Reid feel need improvement. It might foretell a trade or FA acquisition.

We can apply that same logic to this year's search. We desperately need a Safety, and we need WR's. I could see us visiting with a bunch of safeties, only to snag a big one via trade or FA. We might not bring in a lot of WR's, and grab a bunch via FA.

This year will allow us to monitor Dorsey and Reid trends and patterns, because we will have two years of data to work off of instead of one.

I am going to try to link to comprehensive player profiles when they exist, courtesy of draftbreakdown.com. For some of the lesser-known guys, it may just be a random video or profile from their team website.

Reminder as to how this works: When you guys see a solid lead on someone we are interested in, post it in here (links, please). Still trying to keep this sucker legit.

He's got a good personality that seems to energize people and his accuracy is there. I think if he's there in round 3 we take a long hard look at him.
I really hope we do. I like Murray better than Bortles.

Oh, and I ABSOLUTELY like him better than Ken Dorsey... errr... AJ McCarron

I like Murray, but I think Connor Shaw will be the qb pick up this year, in a late round.

Florida State fullback Chad Abram has worked out for the New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins, according to league sources.

The 6-foot, 236-pounder ran the 40-yard dasb between 4.58 and 4.65 seconds at the Seminoles' Pro Day workout.

He bench pressed 225 pounds 21 times and had a 35 1/2 inch vertical leap and a 10-7 broad jump with a 4.50 20-yard shuttle and a 7.08 three-cone drill.

Abram is a versatile fullback and a bruising lead blocker.

Florida State rushed for 2,844 yards last season, averaging 5.6 yards per carry behind Abram's blocking as the Seminoles set a school record with 42 rushing touchdowns.

He had seven carries for 29 yards and nine catches for 73 yards with three touchdowns.

Abram caught a touchdown in the BCS national championship game win over Auburn.

He also scored a touchdown against Boston College on a 10-yard reception.

Abram began his career as a safety before moving to fullback in 2011.

Abram doubles as a special-teams ace.

He's graded as a later-round draft target or priority free agent.

Watched Chris Borland tonight. He has short arms, but boy is he strong. He had 100+ tackles in 3 years and 14 forced fumbles. Also owned Micah Hyde in short distance situations.

Would love to have this guy on our team.

Will he get drafted?

- Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports ILB Chris Borland has been taken off one teams board due to a left shoulder problem. The team feels he needs surgery on the same shoulder that has already been operated on twice. JSonline.com
