Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Really?

Their 100 series is essentially a carbon copy of the Beretta but without the chrome barrel. They purchased the blueprints and some of the machinery directly from Beretta before they started making them. On balance, I've heard they're a good gun just not fantastic.

'Gun snobs' hate them, but the more level-headed folks I've talked to have all said that they're solid guns if you're not a professional shooter, they'll do the job and they'll cost you 60% of what a lot of similar guns will cost.

Really, they're similar to Rock River and Bushmaster - the 'purists' with unlimited budgets that have no problem dropping $2K on the Colt for a nominal upgrade will slam the holy hell out of those 2, but in the end, the RRA and Bushmaster are still solid guns in their own right.

I have a S&W 1911 and love it, but they can be pricey.

The Springfields look sweet, but I have yet to try one.

My brother has a Glock .40, and it's decent, but nothing like my 1911 (but it was $300 cheaper).

Springfield xd or xdm, glock 22, or smith and Wesson m&p. The 40 cals will be cheaper to shoot.

Or a 1911 model.

If you do decide to sell, let me hear the price tag you would let it go for. Seriously.

I'm just starting to think about it so it wouldn't be for a while, but I'll let you know.

Out of curiosity, is that something I can just sell and ship with no restrictions? Or do I need to fill out paperwork with a gun shop or something?

Black powder firearms are the only fire arms that you can ship to, or have shipped to you with out an FFL. I believe all hand guns that are not black powder, have to be shipped over night to an FFL holder. Face to face? Check your local laws

CMP can ship they're Garands, carbines ect. They get a pass from the GOV . Because I think they are tied into the GOV somehow.

You can sell it just like any other property you own, I'm pretty sure.
