Any interest in Kevin Hardy?

He was released from Cinci today. He could add some veteran leadership and is rarely hurt.

# 51 Kevin Hardy
Position: LB
Height: 6-4
Weight: 259
Born: 07/24/1973
College: Illinois
NFL Experience: 10

I dont see the Chiefs pursuing this guy.

He's an aging veteran whose numbers have steadily been on the decline, and just recently lost his position to David Pollack, who has never played a down at the position in an actual game.

From what the reports are, Gunther wants to play Bell at OLB. That pretty much sets one of our outside guys. Then the other position is a tossup between Derrick Johnson and Scott Fujita.

If the Chiefs pursue a linebacker, I would think it would be a Middle linebacker that would be capable of starting, and making an immediate impact that would be able to move Kawika Mitchell to the bench in a backup/special teams role.

Its too bad that Jamie Sharper was signed by the Seahawks so quickly, he would have been a good candidate to plug into the middle, so that we arent relying soley on Kawika Mitchell in the middle.

Guys like Anthony Simmons, Warrick Holdman, Chad Brown, and Jay Foreman are still on the market, and Peter Boulware has a good chance of being cut on June 1st. However, i'm happy with Mitchell in the middle so I don't really want to add any of these guys.

Boulware would be awesome. Back in college he reminded me of DT.

I want Bell in the middle. The guy is a run stopper and can be used in the blitz. Outside in the 4-3, he's gonna have problems because he's not a good pass defender.

My old idea of giving up a 6th or 7th round draft pick to have Sam Cowart play MLB doesn't seem like it was such a bad idea in hindsight now that Mitchell is starting in the middle.

Has anyone asked Carl or Adam Teicher about that point ?

You could be right. If there is a decent OLB out there then shouldn't that be the direction with any $$ left ?
