I really don't care how a QB performs in the first 3 quarters as long as he keeps the team in the game. Eli and big Ben are building hall of fame careers off of taking what the team gives them, then being nails in the 4th quarter. they have a knack for playing well in shootouts and terrible when their defense is nails. I would gladly take that over an explosive offense. But we have to see philly Alex smith consistently. The Dallas Alex smith is a recipe for playoff disaster.

It would be nice to get more replays on some of that stuff, and it's a great reason for sitting in the upper deck.

They stretched the field a bit today though... nothing earth shattering, but he made some good throws, and hopefully that continues to improve.

Got exactly what I was looking for in the second half.

Still offensive line issues, but some improvement there (hmmm - "concussion like symptoms" for Fisher?). Too many penalties.

Alex Smith kept doing what he'd been doing, running the ball to sustain some drives, but he finally started making some throws downfield into tighter windows, giving the receivers chances to make plays. One of the picks was a fluke on a poor throw to Charles (amazing how that one bounced for NYG), really the only overtly bad play I can remember. Otherwise he was doing what we need him to do. Steady play, but taking some chances when they're there. That second half performance was big. For the whole O.

And the defense proves what we already knew: we don't have to play afraid on offense; they're good enough to hold teams after turnovers...

288 yards passing, 1 bad pass 1 tipped INT 3 TD's.

Could have pushed it down field a few times but still a solid game with a shit OL and little running until the 4th again for some damn reason.

Solid win by a solid team.

All of those excuses look kind of silly now, huh? Oh, he doesn't have time to throw it down field, the receivers drop every pass, it's a miracle he doesn't get sacked on every down, he needs a lot more help in the running game....

I think the Tip was more on Alex than the throw to Bowe was.
