2010 Matt Cassel 11-20 yards: 59-113 (52.2%), 1,082 yards, 18.3 YPC, 9 TD 3 INT, 3.9 completions per game

I see a QB who not only threw the ball intermediate LESS than Cassel, but completed less pass passes by far and also turned the ball over more in that range.

Hope is not kindled.

How ****ing depressing.
If I were looking for hope then I'd go with the Smith plays pretty well with a chip on his shoulder combined with the change of scenery might do him some favors angle.

Request: can someone put this information in an easy-to-share chart for me?

The more I look at this deal, the less I understand it. I just don't get it. Elvis Bono IS Matt Casshole. Here's how I see the side by side:

Specs:
EB: 6'4", 217lbs, 29 yrs old, 7 years experience.
Casshole: 6"4", 230lbs, 30 yrs old, 7 years experience.

EB Playoff record as a starter: 1-1.
Casshole Playoff record as a starter: 0-1.

EB Career Stats: 14,280 passing yds, started 80 games, 81 TD, 63 INT, 36 fumbles, sacked 196 times, 79.1 QB Rating.

Casshole Career Stats: 13,495 passing yds, started 78 games, 82 TD, 57 INT, 24 fumbles, sacked 160 times, 80.4 QB Rating.

Both guys grew up in California. Raider QB Carson Palmer was Cassel's best man. Elvis Bono married a Oakland Raider Cheerleader.

Meet the New Boss.
Same as the Old Boss.

If we draft Geno, I could sort of understand the move, but as it stands, the move by itself is a tragic comedy.

A comedy that won't reach it's fullest potential until mid-season.

What I keep being told is that "Smith isn't Cassel - he won a play-off game".

So did Tebow. BFD

you can actually make a logical argument if you wanted that Cassel on paper, is better than Smith

how SAD is that

you are talking about a 1st overall pick being equal to a 7th round draft pick that never played a down in college in terms of NFL Production. So really, WHICH one is worse and which one exceeded their expectations. Kind of sad

Exactly. It's like they wasted the 2nd round pick on a clone of Cassel. If you want Cassel, then just keep Cassel.

I can't figure out why Cleveland or Arizona want him either. The guy blows. He just blows.

Yall scared me for a while, getting Reid, benching cassel... I thought you guys were going to really make it hard for my Raiders but then it happened in typical Chiefs fashion with Smith.

I dare wouldn't take anybody's opinion over Executive of the Decade Scott Pioli. Lawd no. That man is a winner and knows how to build a franchise. Everyone else is just ignorant!!
