I'd like to see a good movie based on a video game or on Dungeons & Dragons. I didn't see Prince of Persia, so maybe it's already been done, but as an earlier generation guy, I would have liked to see them do a better job with the D&D movie they made in 2000 or the DOOM movie they did in 2005.

They're starting on a Warcraft movie already. $100m Budget, live Action with a ton of CG. It's going to be produced by Legendary/Warner Bros and Duncan Jones will be directing it.

Im curious to see how it turns out. Warcraft's lore is very, very deep. You'd need a LoTR type trilogy to tell the whole story. This movie will be either very bad or very good. No in between imo.

Given it's popularity, that makes sense. I hope it turns out well.

I think its sort of got the same problem Lone Ranger has. Its an old stale property, that isnt relevant to todays younger audiences. But then again, they did use Jules Verne as a basis for those Mysterious Island movies. But those had lower budgets im sure....

I'd love to see an R rated God of War movie.

I agree. Their problem was that they hired a director that was a fan of D&D, but just not very good. They also put it in a setting that had no fan base, and made it more or less full of silly kid's stuff - pre-Lord of the Rings, that's pretty much how all of medieval fantasy was treated.

But yeah, it could have been tons better. Give it to someone like Guillermo del Toro.

I talked to David Jaffe about this once -- so much potential.

There is already a D&D movie in development - in fact there was (and still may be) a court case about who has the rights.

The Bruce Willis understated superhero movie, Unbreakable, needs a sequel.

They had an animated Sinbad movie with Brad Pitt and Catherine Zeta Jones' voice talents.

That was a great flick.
