Money Private and Federal student loan consolidation?

My brother is in the process of going through the wonderful world of loan consolidation. Is there a company that will consolidate both? I only have a federal consolidation on my loans.

Any experts in this area that can help me out?

Student Assistance Foundation

They've dropped my interest rate as well. It's finally down to like 2.75%. They've dropped it for paying x amount of payments on time, for setting up automatic payment, among some other things.

I was told by my lender that you can't consolidate federal loans and private loans.

Pretty sure I did? Maybe mine were both, I don't know for sure though. I had 3-4 different ones and I got them all consolidated though.

I consolidated two private loans with my federal with the Dept of Education. Unless the laws changed (like they do every 36 hours) it is possible.

What did the consolidation get you guys? Just a better interest rate? Lower payment?
