Lowering Age of Primary Election Voting

I was just reading where Arkansas lowered the legal age for voting during a primary to 17. The prerequisite for pre-registration being that they will have had to turn 18 prior to the November election. Of course, reading the comments, you have people saying that the "snowflakes are trying to rig elections by lowering the voting age," and other similar type of things.

Is it a partisan issue? Personally, I don't see anything wrong with letting those who would have had a say in the general election anyway do their part in helping to narrow down the candidates. Is that just because I tend to agree with the liberal side of issues?

If you can't own a handgun or drink until you're 21, why can you vote before 21? If you're telling me people are too immature to drink and own handguns at 21, how can you say they're mature enough to vote? Either lower the age to own handguns and drink to 18, or change the voting age to 21. Make it consistent.

You didn't say anything here that contradicts my statement.

Actually I don't have an issue with moving that age up too; they'll just face another issue that by the age of 21 you'll have a diminished pool of single individuals or people who've not started a family yet.

In the meantime, dual citizenship is exploding in this country, something frowned on by our govt because of dual loyalties. I would make this both a disqualification for voting and for running for ANY office. But this is the plan when you're socially engineering an international society as Kissinger has said in his own words.

I have been a dual citizen US - UK for as long as I could remember. The only "LOYALTY" that I have is to the United States of America.

Apparently the US government understood that when I received my TS SCI clearance.

Forgive me here, but I had a Handgun (1911), an M14 and later a M16 when I was 17 and 8 months. Additionally, I "played with" explosives and on several occasions used a LAW (Light Anti-tank Weapon)

Additionally, I was encouraged to kill people at that age in a country called Viet Nam.

Still, I couldn't vote (at that time) until I was 21. Couldn't "legally" drink in a bar until I was 21.

Did it bother me? Nope. Honest to god? Didn't give a shit about voting at that age, and was never turned away from a bar once. Good times!! Except for the killing part..

Stop empowering government by allowing it to treat us as non-adults even further into our adulthood. Make everything 18. Make everything 16. Make everything 14. Choose one, but GTFO with the 21 bullshit.

Voting and drinking age should be 21. If you enlist at 18 you should also get to vote and drink. Make those another fringe benefit of enlisting.

Liberals think they have momentum and power with all the high school kids.

This is going to end abruptly.

That may be, but there also weren't that many back then even if the US govt frowned upon it.

Sorry, but I work with a number of them from Canada, Mexico and Israel and some of them do have divided loyalty. So I don't think that's true of all of them.

Dual nationals owe allegiance to both the United States and the foreign country. They are required to obey the laws of both countries, and either country has the right to enforce its laws. It is important to note the problems attendant to dual nationality. Claims of other countries upon U.S. dual-nationals often place them in situations where their obligations to one country are in conflict with the laws of the other. In addition, their dual nationality may hamper efforts of the U.S. Government to provide consular protection to them when they are abroad, especially when they are in the country of their second nationality.

no. no way.
We already know the brain is not fully developed until age 23.

So raise it.

I heard DC wants to lower it to 16.

Yes, Laura Ingraham reported that. The Democrats are failing so badly, they need to create more voters. What better place than to register them right out of their indoctrination camps.
