He's absolutely gone full Clay Travis with his mouth-breathing episodes.
You're the one claiming schools like Vanderbilt will never be anything other than garbage. Meanwhile, they just finished the season ranked and with nine wins.

Kentucky went to five straight bowl games. Kansas has never been to more than two in a row, and that has only happened once.

I'm not saying these teams are great...or even good. I'm saying they are bad programs who would be worse if they were in other conferences.

Does the BCS even exist anymore after this season now that there is a playoff? Their days are are numbered but I wasn't sure if it had officially been killed yet. I know that the BCS was so prestigious that it selected 2 unranked teams and and MAC team to represent their games this past season.

Actually, 2007 was really Mizzou's "magical" season. Since it was your only top-10 season since 1969. KU did it twice in that time frame. So strictly speaking.....

Yeah, you've said the same thing about 10 times in this thread. But you fail to mention how many times in those past 20 years KU finished ranked ahead of Missouri. It hasn't happened this century if that helps you. And MU was in the top 10 many times during that span even when they had Corby Jones at QB. There's also 29 Bowl games to 12 that you keep forgetting.

The big rumor is UNC and Duke. It doesn't seem to fit with the single team in each state strategy, but it would fit with the "we have achieved football supremacy, let's do the same with basketball" mindset that I've heard Slive may have.

There really isn't anything stopping it from happening. The Big East dominated college basketball for several years, and the ACC had a long run an the best conference prior to that, but neither truly "owned" the sport the way the SEC owns football.

With those two conferences out of the way, adding two of the top four basketball programs in the country to a conference that already has the number one program and some really strong complimentary teams would be an embarrassment of riches.

If that happens, it would be interesting to see if that would basically force fans in the south to start paying attention to the sport. The worst nightmare for the rest of the country would be having SEC schools start investing resources into basketball.

Yes, it would be interesting to see Alabama or Auburn become basketball powers. So you could buy their tee-shirts to wear around and bask in their achievement.

I don't understand why Kansas fans get so pissed off at this. Just be glad the Mountaineers and Horned Frogs were available to save your conference.
