Shooting at Arrowhead- Chiefs player commits suicide

No details yet. Just came across on the news.

edit: Sources say the player is Jovan Belcher. Police have yet to confirm.

An unnamed Kansas City Chiefs player has committed suicide at the team facility and authorities are on the scene, the police confirmed to ESPN on Saturday morning.

Local reports say police are operating with the belief the player fatally shot his girlfriend at a house before driving to Arrowhead Stadium and killing himself at around 8 a.m local time. The Associated Press reported the player's age to be 25.

"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."

There were no other injuries at the team facility, police said.

The Chiefs (1-10) were preparing to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The NFL has told the Panthers to travel as planned to Kansas City on Saturday, the Charlotte Observer has reported, citing interim general manager Brandon Beane.

Should the feelings of the actual remaining victims (family members of the girl) be entirely disregarded by these guys because they can mourn how they see fit.

Is bowe's picture not tasteless?

Had a friend do it when I was in highschool.

I disagree on both counts. He was obviously his friend. You stick by your friends.

I have had several friends in prison over the years and I didn't always agree with what they did, but I always accepted their calls, sent some funds, hell let a couple stay with me when they got out till they could get back on their feet.

You stick by your friends.

its fine to a mourn a friend or a teammate for the loss

but when you go public and start SCREENPRINTING t-shirts for remembrance and memorial to wear in public and promote as swag, while pointing to the SKY

that's what people have a problem with. Mourn the less personally, privacy of your home, locker room, funeral, etc etc. But to get on social media and look up to the sky like this dude did something heroic is completely wrong with many's ideals/beliefs

Why would I be in mourning, idiot? Did I know this guy? No. Did I know the victim? No. He's a face under a helmet to me.

Precisely

However, if Jovan were a serial killer that finally got caught then that is different.

This was just a selfish, impulsive, horrific, crime committed in passion by a human being that proved once again that humans and humanity are fallible.

Not only is their friend dead, but their entire conception of him has been rocked to its core. The very IDEA of this person they shared a lot of their lives with has been destroyed, along with the person himself. That's not easy to process, especially not when you're preparing to perform in front of thousands of people so soon after everything happened.

Stop making sense. That is not allowed here.

So I can benchmark it, would you stick by a friend that killed an immediate family member of yours?

First of all, nobody has dismissed any of those above things. Except you, because you know all the answers before anybody really has any. Maybe those things did contribute. Maybe they didn't. We don't know.

Second, if you are a really close friend who remembers 99% of your experiences with a guy who you thought was a solid human being. Under emotional stress, why is it unreasonable for someone like Bowe to think maybe there was something outside of Belcher that made him do something he wouldn't do in a normal state?

Again, this isn't defending Belcher's actions. It's defending how confused people trying to find answers might justify it. I don't care how people judge Belcher's actions. But crucifying friends and family for how they handle this under severe emotional stress is just "holier than thou."
