No it's not. Most players run around the entire game. Generally only one person per team is playing like a pussy all game.

EDIT: Well MW2 had a lot of campers. But that was because the assault rifles had zero recoil, they killed fast at any range, and the maps had extremely long sight-lines. People moved around a lot more in the other 3 COD's though.

I know you're not joking but I wish you were. BFBC2 probably had similar players which had a lot of campers. Or were they waiting for MW3 too?

Comparing BF3 and CoD is comparing apples and oranges. BF3 immerses the player into a full scale environment with air, infantry, armor and sea elements on larger maps. CoD's gameplay is mostly mindless run and gun, no vehicle, no tactic, small mapped. On a console the small map can be ok. On a PC with the players ability to have much more refined and quick movements with a keyboard and mouse, small maps aren't all that great. It just becomes spam fests
