You know that classic picture of those steel workers sitting on that thin I beam having lunch while building the empire state building ? IMO that was more daring than these guys at 1700 ft and those steel workers did that every damn day !!!

I used to climb towers, but nothing over 200'. My buddy would safety himself on the outside of the towers, lean back and take a nap on our lunch breaks. He'd be swaying in the wind and snoring.

my old employer had a tower building division (that was essentially defunct) but one of the tower guys still worked as a shop guy. A couple of times a year he would fly or drive somewhere, climb a tower as high as 1000ft and replace a light bulb or install anti-bird spikes. He certainly didn't have a parachute.
