Jets would like to sign WR Jerricho Cotchery. They aren't alone. Chiefs have expressed "significant interest" in J-Co, per source. #nfl




Jerricho Cotchery - WR - Steelers The New York Daily News reports the Chiefs have "significant interest" in free agent Jerricho Cotchery.
Cotchery would be no higher than fourth on the depth chart in Kansas City. The Jets have also expressed interest in bringing back Cotchery, but he isn't know to have yet scheduled any visits. Related: Chiefs, Jets

No real reason to sign Cotchery.

We need our #4 WR to play special teams. Copper's an okay receiver and dynamite on special teams.

We can bring in another WR via the draft.

If it's WR4, I'd rather take my chances on a rookie. Continue to try and accumulate young talent. I can't imagine that Cotchery's role on this team will be so significant that we couldn't take the chance on filling it with an unproven guy.
