New trade chart??? 2009 trades.

If the trend continues next year, trading top picks will be easier with the new chart. I don't think it is correct, but it looks much closer than the previous chart when you look at the trades this year. So much for people saying that you couldn't trade out of the top 5 this year.

Chart is attached and trades are below:

Sure if you make the top 3 picks worthless it's easier to trade them. We could of traded this year if we were just gonna give them away. In that new value chart the 1st pick is worth less than twice what the 20th pick is. In the old chart it was worth almost 4x as much.

It would be better to just get a rookie scale next year and bring the value of those top picks back up.

the new chart seems to match what happened though. like the Sanchez trade:

Jets got #5 = 880 points

Browns got
#17 = 600
#52 = 178
3 players

the 3 players combined would have to be worth 102 points to make it equal according to the chart. that seems possible. that's like 3 5th round picks.

Yea, but imo this year is the exception not the rule. That new chart Florio made is just a knee jerk reaction to a weak trade by Cleveland in a terrible draft year.

Because the Browns were willing to take it in the pooper, it's a precedent for the future? I don't think so.

Look at the 89 draft and see how ridiculous this new chart would be.

Mike Florio is so full of shit. Factor out the ineptitude on the part of the Browns and redo the chart and i'll CONSIDER looking at it.

the pats trade with the Ravens follows the chart pretty well to:

Pats
23 = 495 points

Ravens
26 = 450
162 = 26

that's pretty close.
