Meanwhile Frank Gore fined 10.5k for wearing his socks to low?

lol @ all the goofy ****ers who actually think that the commissioner does the fines personally. These fines were negotiation in the CBA and passed out by the commissioner's office, not the commissioner.

Commissioner Discipline
The NFL fine rule Section 11, Subsection 1: b states that fines and suspensions resulting from unnecessary roughness or unsportsmanlike conduct on the field shall be initially determined by a person appointed by the commissioner. Usually the director football operations handles these types of cases.

I think this person or persons should have to come out with a reason when they set the fine
