if davis is there at 20(which i doubt) he's one of the guys that we would prolly have to take even though it's not a position of need.

double wide receiver
double tightend
single back set

we can run and pass with equal effectiveness imo

davis is a pretty tough blocker too

Uh...isn't that what we have with Kris Wilson? A tight end with receiver speed and hands? While I do agree with you it seems like an argument made for one can also cancel out an argument made for the other.

dean and wilson are nothing alike

dean is bigger/stronger/faster/meaner

I haven't given up on Wilson. I've seen clips of him at Pitt and the kid is sliky smooth for a guy his size; nice hands, good speed, and catches in stride as if it were second nature. I hope the new staff can bring out the best in Wilson because he could be a real weapon, IMO.

I can't imagine a scenario where Davis last until the 20th pick, but I never thought DJ would drop to us last year either. We'd be insane to pass this guy up, Gonzo or not. Vernon Davis is a freak of all freaks, who has a mean streak and is a great player on top of it all. He'll be gone in the first 10 picks.

I can't believe he runs a 4.37 40. That's amazing for his weight. He's an impressive player, I pray he's gone by the time we pick, though, because we need some defensive players.

Power clean 380...he's pretty strong. Anybody ever power clean?..it sucks. A 4.37 40 time is amazing for his size.

He has incredible numbers for a player his size. I'm in awe that he can run a 40 that quick. That said how many TEs do we need?
