I guess some areas might be different, but I guess in my experiences black people don't have trouble getting jobs anymore. At least I never hear of a more qualified black man losing out to a less qualified white anymore. I thought we were past that now.

Every team has to balance its entire coach/roster 50/50

half the coaching needs to be white, half black
half the roster needs to be white players, half black players

50 white coaches will lose their jobs
600 black players will lose their jobs

fair is fair

You do realize black coaches are welcome to turn down an interview if they thought it was insulting, right? The fact that they accept interviews, even when it's clear they're only there to be Rooney Ruled, indicates that they don't have a problem with it.

Again... how is a black coach not earning his job? They don't get hired unless a GM believes they are the best candidate for their team. It's not like anybody's enforcing hiring quotas.

Plenty of black coaches have turned down interviews for that very reason. Imagine that! A bunch of black guys that don't think exactly alike!

Accepting a mock interview to get better is not the same as being interviewed because of your skin color.

It's insulting to black coaches, a subtle way of telling them they're not good enough. Of course, it's never spun that way...

I thought they didn't have a choice if a white wants them to do something? Turns out my life has been a lie and blacks still don't have rights. Obama isn't really president either.

I am talking about how it is common practice to interview for jobs you aren't excited about just to gain experience interviewing. Mock interviews are no substitute for learning how to interview in a pressure situation.

If black coaches were insulted, they wouldn't do it. I don't think they're oblivious to their stock. If they are an outside chance, they probably know that.

Blacks don't have to interview for a position.
Owners don't have to hire a black coach if they aren't impressed with them in the interview process.

Nobody is forced to do anything, except that NFL teams are asked to spend a few extra hours of their time to interview an extra candidate. That's it. People need to stop with the characterization that this process is any way unfair to anybody.

In ten years when a team only interviews black candidates, I will be outraged. Oh wait, I'm not going to give a shit because teams are going to hire the best candidate regardless of who they interview or what color they are.
