Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I like the thoughts of his and the smith version. I'd like to hear opinions from someone who's fired both. Hell, I'd like to be someone who's fired both.

I own most of all the higher end caliber Taurus handguns, and love the double locks for instance on the raging bull .44 mag and the .454 casall. I personally stay away from the duo tone versions and go all stainless.

Nice! I'm going to try to pick up the 3" version blued, due to local regs I have to jump through some extra hoops which will take time! Hell that's a gun they really should have just called it the Taurus 'Ron Jeremy' edition...the 6.5" is just massive.

When I go home, I took a look at the register receipt to get some information for the warranty card of another item and noticed that the cashier had screwed up and only charged me for ONE box, not FIVE. I called the store and talked to the manager and told him I would drop in tomorrow to pay for the other four boxes tomorrow and he told me, "don't worry about it, you've been a great customer." I spent over 10k with those guys last year. I was surprised that he said that, but I wasn't going to argue about his "early Christmas gift." You can also bet your bottom dollar I will continue to buy my guns at their store.

Hope that helps?
nice...see it's funny I don't live in the midwest right now but when things like this happen to me I do the same..if I notice that I'm undercharged I let them know. Some of the people I know look at me funny when I do that and say...man you could have gotten a great deal....yea but it was wrong....some peoples values these days....

I'm leary of the design myself. If you load it with a .45 cartridge, when you shoot the gun, and from what I can see about the design which may be wrong, the bullet has to move out of the rotating cylinder about, what, a 1/2" or 1" before it enters the rifled barrel, right? Then the bullet slams into the rifled barrel before it's ejected from the muzzle. This just does not seem good to me. Futhermore, when you shoot the 410 shotgun shell, it pushes the buck shot threw the rifled barrel too. So, the buck shot is going to immediately spew everywhere, due to the rifling effect, right? How long is the barrel gonna last with these dynamics?

Meh, I don't like the design, I think it has inherint flaws, but maybe I'm completely wrong. Anyone with an opinion on these multi ammo revolvers?

The reviews have been pretty good on them. Surprisingly accurate is common.

yep, they have been well received so perhaps my concerns are unfounded. That being said, I think the barrel life of these revolvers has to be somewhat limited.

For home protection I'd stick with the regular bullets or .410 slugs. A barrel that short with .410 shot will most likely just piss off an intruder.

I do want a revolver, just a .357 magnum that can shoot the .38 special. I think the revolver is the ideal home defense weapon.

Shotgun 1st

Revolver 2nd

If I need my gun at night when I have just awaken, I don't want to have a safety to worry about. Shotguns and revolvers are perfect.

I have a 12 Gauge, 1911, and a 642 ready to go. My wife has a Beretta 92FS and her cursed LC9.

My next CC gun will be the S&W 640 .357 Magnum. Shoot .38 for fun and .357 for keeps.

I wasn't a big fan of revolvers until I realized their beautiful simplicty. No safety, just 5 bullets that will go bang every time.

yah, this is why they are ideal. You can leave them loaded, they are powerful, accurate and reliable. If you can't drop someone with a .38 revolver, you should not be allowed to own a gun anyway. JMHO.
