Greatest CP Folk Heroes

Something I love about this place is the way we build up certain players to the point where they become mythological figures. And I don't mean true on-the-field heroes like Derrick Thomas, Tony Gonzalez, or Tyler Thigpen. I mean the guys who only achieved greatness in our collective imagination. The guys who became legends without actually doing anything legendary. The guys whose names live on in our hearts and our hearts alone.

They are the folk heroes of ChiefsPlanet.

Who, in your opinion, is the greatest of them all?

Some candidates:

Rich Scanlon: Emerging from the shadowy, mysterious region known as Europe, he tantalized us (well, mostly the Roys) with the promise of salvation, everlasting joy, and decent linebacker play. He ended up providing us with none of those things, though he did get a few special teams tackles, I think.

Bobby Sippio: A man of humble indoor beginnings, Robert "Bobby" Sippio took River Falls by storm with his unique blend of middling talent and decent size. Though he was often confused by the tremendous length of the field, he offered a glimmer of hope to fans who had an eye for talent and/or an HBO subscription. He even made the 53 man roster, but was cut in favor of Tyler Thigpen, who as we all know went on to accomplish great things.

Ricky Stanzi: There is still some hope that noted jingoist Ricky Stanzi will actually get a chance to lead our Chiefs to the promised land. But until he actually manages to get on the field, his imaginary legend will continue to grow. Will he, like Robin Hood, steal from the rich (Matt Cassel, by killing him) to give to the poor (the Chiefs fanbase, by winning a ****ing playoff game)? Or will he merely linger on the bench as a fading beacon of hope, a whispered promise of what could have been? Only time will tell.

Looks like Steve Maneri is climbing the list, based on the Dallas Clark thread.

I heard he was shipped off because he's as dumb as a bag of rocks and he has weepy vagina issues. I don't know though. The guy that did it is a real dumbass himself.
