Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I should check with my friend in the Air Force (security forces major) and see what he knows about them.
I tried to check out their website, but it is blocked at work.

FN Herstal 45 acp, 14 round magazine. American made. Their website claims they provide 70% of the sidearms to the military. Looks pretty bad ass, and if I'm willing to drop $400, what's an extra $100?
Bump. No luck with my Air Force buddy - his issued sidearm is a Beretta.

All the reviews I've found on this are very positive.

I thought FNH was a Belgian company? Either way, they make quality shit seeing as they're responsible for the SCAR.

Yeah, doesn't look like I can go wrong with that one. I'm going to make some calls and see if anybody local carries it.

FN is top drawer stuff. Not sure about the 70% claim with the array of weapons the military uses.

Should be interesting to see who comes out on top of the competition to replace the M16. I bought some Smith and Wesson stock on a flyer just in case.

I'm pretty sure the rifles are already there. You got the Bushmaster's ACR and you got the FN SCAR, right? One or both of those are the future.

Bushmaster rumored to be closing up, kicking the line to Remington (same ownership). Gonna be a ton of folks go after the next generation just like when they deep sixed the 1911 and moved to the Baretta.

Anyone play around with Garands here?

I am looking to put a rail and possibly an Eotech sight on mine and I was just fishing for someone who might have direct experience.

Looking to do the same with my Saiga .308.

I have plenty of experience with the Eotech sights, which are awesome, but would something like this be a good alternative (since I don't want to spend $500 on each rifle):
