He played a below-average game (for him) in the snow/wind against Syracuse in the Pinstripe Bowl. Other than that, he was outstanding. THis streak of "bad games" is just overblown and nonexistent.

Tired of people acting like Geno's season ended with the KSU game. It might have for Big 12/major bowl purposes, but he came back and played very well against some legitimate teams after that.
Could you imagine how bad Wilson would have played in the Pinstripe bowl? Freezing rain, slick/hard ball, cold as hell, windy and tiny ass girl hands?! Forget about it.

He doesn't have the weak arm every one says, depending on the shoulder of course. But to make all these claims that he's not this or that, seems to show we (yeah, myself included at times) have put on some blinders.

Another guy against popular opinion, is EJ Manuel. Intriguing prospect. Will take a while to groom obviously, but in terms of talent he has alot.

Flame away.
Don't be afraid to speak your opinion bro. I'm glad you did.

I think Barkley is very intriguing, especially since secondroundstats proved he was the same guy as he was last year.

And right now my interest for EJ Manuel has skyrocketed. I had questions on whether he could throw the ball well too, but he was very good throwing the ball at the combine. If we choose to go the route of Alex Smtih and take a developmental QB, I want EJ.

Just watched Matt Barkley's chalk talk.

Basically same show as Geno Smith. Shown a play. Play is erased. Interview continues and then asks him to draw it up. Struggled with the terminology a little bit. Struggled to replicate the play as it was originally drawn up (though he was asked to flip it, which is tough).

TBH, with Barkley's arm strength, he's going to have to become Brees like in his decision making and accuracy. I'm not sure I see that, but I also don't know that his arm is that weak.

I am trying to like Manuel. But watching that offense this year, it's really hard. He's a guy I'd love us to take if we had a starter already, say the Texans situation.

My thing about Barkley is, how much more upside does he have? I think that is whats always been the problem with USC QB's. They've played around great talent and they're pretty well coached (arguable with Barkley) and they just don't have much more space between where they are and their ceiling.

Thats why I'd take Smith at 1, in that I think he showed this weekend that with the mechanical fixes, his arm strength has the potential to be pretty stellar, paired with his accuracy he could be lethal.

I ran back her to post this and see you beat me to it.

It was basically a carbon copy of Geno's interview. I thought Barkley showed well, despite struggling with drawing up the play.

I want Geno Smith at #1.

If not Smith, then Barkley is an acceptable consolation prize.

Pretty much anything else is a no-go for me.

Where have you been, dude? You're almost as bad as RunKC in terms of being overly defensive.

Barkley has fans on Chiefs Planet. Many posters (like me) consider Barkley also worthy of the #1 overall pick.

Shit dude, you're around here all the time. You should know this. What's this, "You guys are gonna hate me..." garbage?

You sum up my feeling about USC quartebacks perfectly. These guys all look like world beaters becasue they literally have the best receivers, linemen, and running backs around them. USC generally beats everyone's ass, save Stanford and UCLA ( ). They never really get pushed all that much in college, then they come to the NFL and face far superior talent than they did in school, and look pretty average against it.

(Yes, I know USC was pretty pedestrian this year by their standards, but my point remains)

Well, first off it was pretty heated in this thread.

Second, I was basing that on a post right before, not any of you guys.

I'm not spot trolling at this point PGM, you always call me on it when I do, working on changing my game.

I won't tear you up on that.

I prefer Geno also, but if Reid prefers Barkley, I will trust the Walrus.

I just far prefer a QB at No. 1. If that's either of those guys, I can deal with it (especially if Barkley surprises with his arm strength like he surprised with his height).

Agreed. That's a really tough situation. You see one play for 45 seconds, with terminology that is different from anything you've heard before or worked with, then are asked to replicate it under the lights 10 minutes later after facing minutes of intense questioning.

I shudder to think what a truly lazy QB who relies entirely on his natural abilities would look like in that situation (Russell/Mallet/Vince Young/Bray/etc). WOnder if they'll televise those.
