Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I watched "Taken" tonight. It was over the top. But as long as you expect it going in, it is a good experience.

Watching "Bronson". Strange movie, But I'm enjoying it. Tom Hardy is great. His character's likable, in a weird way. Charismatic.

I liked that movie a lot. Didn't really know what to expect before I saw it.

Side note: My brother was telling about Australia's inmate version of "Bronson". He sounds like a way crazy/meaner/psychotic ****. He had his own ears cut off while in prison...

edit: Chopper Read - apparently a film about him as well, "Chopper." Anyone seen it?

2nd edit: After reading more about him... I'm not sure which one would win in a fight, but "Bronson" looks to be in better shape.

Chopper is one of my favorite movies. Eric Bana is brilliant and the movie is very entertaining. Director also made Assassination of Jesse James so he's two for two as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait to see what he does next.

"Let Me In" was awesome. At least on par with the original... maybe better.

Rare for a remake.

Yes. It was different enough to be it's own movie, yet stayed close to the original story. It's worth seeing.

I just finished "The King's Speech."

Remarkable.

There is no way that Colin Firth doesn't win Best Actor. Amazing performance.

The movie was terrific as well, but Firth was extraordinary.

The original is better. This one just added american horror moments to an already great film.

Spoiler!

It seems like this is now the front-runner for Oscar.
