Every time I watch this ****ing show, I want to eat everything I see. Why can't my hometown have Juicy Lucy's or incredibly cheesy looking homemade Mac N Cheese with bacon. I hate this show.

Set your DVR's. Guy Fieri recently visited my town and here are the upcoming shows. Love you guys:

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Guy Fieri brought his "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" crew to town in January.

Now, Food Network has information on when episodes will air that feature the local eateries. The show's crew filmed at Salty's, Pyrenees Cafe, KC'S Steak House, Mama Roomba, Muertos and Moo Creamery - possibly even more Bakersfield restaurants.

"ROADTRIPPIN"

Airs -- 10 p.m., Feb. 27; 1 a.m. Feb. 28; 9 p.m. March 2; 12 a.m. March 3; 10:30 p.m. March 7; 1:30 a.m. March 8

Synopsis from "Triple-D" show page:

This trip, Guy's headed coast to coast, from north to south. In Atlantic City, the local legend dishin' out righteous crab-stuffed flounder and a legit spin on cannelloni. In Phoenix, the mom and pop pizza shop firing up pies topped with everything from baked ziti to chicken marsala. And in Bakersfield, Calif., some sunshine and down-home specialties, like tri tip and grilled chicken, worthy of a road trip.

"FROM ATLANTIC TO PACIFIC"

Airs -- 10 p.m. March 6; 1 a.m. March 7

Synopsis from "Triple-D" show page:

This trip, Guy's gettin' a far out taste of both coasts. In Bakersfield, Calif., the 75-year-old steakhouse firing up savory stuffed pork chops and legit lobster mac 'n cheese. Across town, the Latin-American fusion joint cranking out chicken and tri-tip with a south-of-the-border spin. And in Somers Point, N.J., the sandwich spot serving up all kinds of crazy combos, like a killer crab melt and the bomb pork belly reuben.

"GLOBE TASTING"

Airs -- 10 p.m. March 13; 1 a.m. March 14

Synopsis from "Triple-D" show page:

This trip, Guy's getting an authentic taste of all ends of the earth. In Bakersfield, Calif., the firehouse-turned-restaurant firing up Latin-fusion favorites like basque lamb tacos and popcorn pork with a side of zing. In Northfield, N.J., a Sicilian spot servin' all kinds of authentic specialties like grandma's pizza and homemade pappardelle pasta. And in Phoenix, the funky Thai joint dishing out off-the-hook dumplings and coconut Asian pork.

Fieri is also nearing the opening of his own restaurant, Johnny Garlic's, at The Marketplace in Bakersfield.

I've been to Muertos (excellent burgers, fried mushrooms and garlic fries) about 3-5 times. Saltys is directly across the street from me and I've been there about 12-15 times. Excellent sandwich called The Pig. Pulled pork and tri tip topped with coleslaw. I've been Moo Creamery once about a month ago and had a burger, it was very good. I won't go to KC Steakhouse, I've heard a lot of bad things about it. Never been to the other two.

He can be irritating at times. His restaurant Johnny Garlics opened up here on Tuesday. The food looks amazing. I'll be there next Tuesday for the wife's birthday. I'd rather watch Bobby Flay FWIW

Is he going to have his famous Sizzling Soul Food Fritters with a side of Awesome Donkey Sauce?

Yeah. Really sick of Guy. Unfortunately, my son freaking loves him and imitates him everytime we go out and eat somewhere.

Takes a bit of food.
Chews for a bit, eyes closed.
Quite, thoughtful voice: "It's the texture. And the crunch. With a little softness."
Voice raising. "Oh yeah. Definitely."
Shout, "It's off the hook! That's what I'm talking about!"

Son.. shut the **** up.

You'll honestly probably go once and then never go back.

He had a Johnny Garlics in Santa Rosa and a Tex Wasabi's up in Sac....but then turned the Wasabi's into a Johnny Garlics......and then closed it down. Garlics was alright....but nothing super special.

I know it's NYC, and they're elitist assholes in their food scene... but this review of his restaurant up there is pretty awesome:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/14/di...anted=all&_r=0

It also points to a seriously annoying issue in popular food trends: the use of superlatives and exaggeration on menus. High quality restaurants tend toward the plain (almost annoying so) when they describe. But the pop culture way seems to give a bunch of preposterous descriptors that inevitably lead to disappointment. It annoys the crap out of me. Fast food restaurants are the worse with their "INSANE HABANERO SAUCE THAT WILL LEAVE YOU SWEATING!!" and then it's about the heat of chipotle flavored mayo.

I understand that you can't actually produce something truly spicy or edgy for consumption by the masses, but please stop trying to describe your food as edgy.

The gf and I were near a Johnny Garlic's last year. We reviewed the menu, read the reviews, and decided against it. Seemed like chainy, uninspired food.

Yeah that's what it seems like to me as well, another chain. If you have a chance to go to Bobby Flays restaurant Mesa Grill I highly recommend going. I'm sure Mesa Grill beats Johnny Garlics all to hell. I had the Mexican spiced rubbed pork tenderloin, incredible.
