Gerrard released

David Garrard - QB - Dolphins
Dolphins released QB David Garrard.

With experienced backup signal-callers such as Seneca Wallace and Brian Hoyer freely available, the Dolphins were unable to land even a late-round pick for Garrard or Matt Moore. Even though Garrard had emerged as the front-runner early in training camp, it made little sense to keep him on the roster at $2.25 million once Ryan Tannehill had been announced as the starter. Expected to be back to full health in a week or two, Garrard shouldn't be out of work for very long.

Yea yea he's always hurt, but he's much better than Cassel, I'm game. Anyone else?

Literally no reason not to bring him in immediately.

We won't, because we have a doof in power.

Agree.

We are stuck with what we have this year. Cassel is light years better than anyone else on the roster. We just have to "deal with it" until next year.

I think it's more about Garrard being better than Stanzi and Quinn. I don't think people want him to challenge Cassel unless we suck early.

Yeah - you're right. He was out of the league last year.

Edited, thanks.

Pioli says Chiefs are set with roster. No interest in Garrard

It's not about Stanzi though. Stazi is your development guy.

It'd be Garrard vs Quinn.....and Garrard was out of football last year, barely got a weeks worth of TC in this year, his body is falling apart AND would have to learn the offense.

On top of all that....he's not even that good.

Rather just keep Quinn.

Can't see anyone picking him up now that he's broken and with other QB options sitting idle out there.
Too bad, watching him on Hard Knocks I got to liking him as a person, seems level headed and a decent guy.

I also got to liking Matt Moore and his constant shit-eating grin. True jock; good leader.

It's a sad state of our fanbase and QB situation when the release of a busted up old has been like Garrard gives one pause to think that he should come here.
