Bernie as the new Favorite deserves his own thread

The positions the old fellow takes are unique. Should have strong appeal to those who oppose war and our efforts in the middle east

No, not predicting that at all. Would be just like them to nominate the one sure loser against Trump. Like the say, the Dems never miss a chance to miss a chance.

Though it would surprise me if the DNC actually let Bern get the nom.

The way I see it, Bernie want to take from the 1%, then when that's obviously not enough he'll take from the 5%, when that's not enough, he'll take from the 30%, and when that turns out to be not enough he'll take from the 50% and then maybe people will learn their lesson when they're all poor.

Sanders has already said that he's going to raise taxes on the middle class.

Quote:
Sen. Bernie Sanders, challenged at Thursday night’s Democratic presidential debate on how he would pay for universal health care and his other proposed programs, admitted income taxes on the middle class would have to go up — but maintained that the savings in medical expenses would more than offset the tax hike.

Sanders, who took the first question from NBC correspondent Savannah Guthrie, talked about his Medicare for All proposal for his allotted minute. But when Guthrie followed up and pressed him about taxes on the middle class, he conceded, “Yes, they will pay more in taxes.”
https://news.yahoo.com/sanders-admit...021852309.html

The lie will be in his claim that the changes in the health care system would result in a net cut in health care costs.

I've yet to see a real libertarian post by you. So that's irrelevant to what I said.
You wouldn't have posted how Trump should put money into communities instead of letting people keep more of their own.

No Justin Amash is not a real libertarian. I read the real libertarians, in fact I read the most widely read libertarian site on-line. And most of them except one, thought the impeachment was ridiculous scam or that he wasn't impeached on real impeachable matters. But then the ones I read, support the Constitution too. Not all libertarians do.

This is why the Libertarian party will never amount to a hill of beans.

"ThAt'S nOt ReAl LiBeRtArIAnIsM"!

Justin Amash is as good as it gets. No, there will never be a politician who passes the Libertarian purity test, but then again no politician will ever do that for either party. So I chose to wear my shades of pragmatism glasses, and up until this point I have supported who can closely model their values.

Guess what, if you dont have a safety net, people will probably start rolling out the guillotines for the upper middle class on up. And yes, we need a functioning government for our roads, police, fire fighters, ect.

But I still believe in a whole host of things that a "real libertarian" would ascribe to. That includes the rule of law, the one our current shitstain in chief doesn't care much for. So excuse me I'd I am not going to sit back and and watch him shit on the institutions that got us here. So yes, I voted straight D on all federal candidates in the 2018 midterms for the first time ever, and will do so again until Trumpism is no longer a thing.

You haven't noticed the two sides? The centrists are at odds with the liberals. The American Left is split. Not as much as we're supposed to believe. Have you noticed that there are some that want "free school", "free healthcare", and a lot of "free". Then there are those that are like hell no

It's why Biden never budged on any issues, and why Pete thought about starting further left, and then moved back to the center. And why Harris was for free shit one day, and then a diverse lady version of Biden the next. I'd like to know where you're getting that America has any real leftists in it from. We really don't

Bernie'd be a centrist in most European Nations. And barely left in Asia, and Latin America. He'd be a leftist in the middle east. And in Africa. The only places that are more conservative than the US. He does have some leftist ideas

But I hate to break it to you, but you're incorrect about the political spectrum. I'd let it go, but unlike most of the people on here that aren't paying as close attention as you, I know that they mean American Left, and that you mean actual left. Liberal is fine and correct, but left isn't. There are four political factions in the US at this time. Liberal and conservative republicans, and conservative and liberal democrats

The liberal democrats are pretty liberal. And there are some marxists and leftists in that group. But not that many, and probably not as many as you seem to think. You've been misguided. I know that you are probably just mistaken

The only sure loser is picking a soulless corporate Democrat that nobody is inspired to vote for.

I won't pretend to know how a Bernie vs Trump election would go, but I can just point out that the empirical data goes against your theory and that you're arguing based on feels.
