PFF thread for dis week, ya'll

Interesting contrast between the defense and offense this week.

Nearly the entire offense graded in the green going against Carolina's awful defense.

Conversely, NO ONE on the ENTIRE defense was in the green. There was a complete lack of playmaking on the defense this week, and they also missed six tackles.

Jeff Allen had his best game of the year with a 3.5. He has demonstrated remarkable improvement over the last month.

Donald Stephenson (0.4) had merely an OK game. Still only gave up one QB hit and one hurry.

Jon Baldwin was very active with 11 whole snaps in the passing game.

Dontari Poe got pushed around in run defense but had a nice 0.6 in pass rush with 2 QB hits. He also played a whopping 47 snaps.

Siler had a very meh game (-0.8)

Jalil Brown did pretty well, giving up only 19 yards on 5 targets.

Might as well put a Belcher stat in here since it's the last time he'll ever be mentioned most likely: He was 10th in run stop percentage among ILBs this year. That's pretty good. He was also dead last in yards per cover snap, basically making him the biggest liability at ILB in pass coverage in the league. He was targeted 12 times for 10 completions yielding 173 yards.

Brady Quinn has a higher PFF rating than Cassel now.

Yeah a couple of them. He's gotten better as the year went on, but right now it's gonna take a couple huge games for him to not be in the red this year. All of our safeties suck this year. He's played the best, and although he's 2nd in the NFL for stops by a safety, he's allowed 32 catches. Tied for most in the league.

It's almost as if it was foreshadowing.

For a bloody raw rookie, Poe is coming along fine it seems.

They're really trying to push his development by keeping him on the field in just about any down/distance situation, and he's proving himself up to the task.

Waaay too early to call bust on the guy, if this arc continues he'll be just what we wanted by year three.

I really wish I had a PFF subscription. It seems like something that would be really entertaining to study.

Poe is definitely improving as the season goes on. I think we'll be happy we drafted him.

With 3 meh games the past 3 weeks, Houston is no longer the top 3-4 OLB. Anthony Spencer has passed him.

I really like what Romeo has done with Houston. In 2011 he had Houston constantly dropping into coverage, and Houston was bad. Very bad in coverage.

But it turned out to be a great learning experience. Houston is one of the best coverage OLB in the league now. He plays the flats really well, and IMO his outside contain is top 3 in the NFL. Pretty great value for Houston.

Let's all thank Mary Jane.

Flowers is very underrated among CBs. He's top 5 if he has a decent pass rush and doesnt have to cover for 10 minutes
