Madden 2005 -- funny stuff...

I decided to start a franchise in Madden with the Chiefs and instead of playing the games for the first (2004) season, I would sim them to mimic what has happened in real life.

Right now, I'm starting week 4 at 0-3 and here's a couple of gems.

Chris Bober and Jason Dunn are demanding playing time or a trade.

But these are the funniest:

I checked my Advisors screen and amongst other things, they're saying "The sports radio shows are ripping the team new one" and "We've got cap room. Now's not the time to be frugal."

A freaking video game is smart enough to figure it out, but the braintrust at 1 Arrowhead Drive isn't?

Yeah I know, I just don't see the point in hiring Brian Schottenheimer. Maybe the last name makes it fun.

Better yet, where is that stadium???

It's not Arrowhead.

It has the Chiefs' colors and endzone logos, but it has buildings in the background, kinda like Wrigley field.

Well, I just have the worst luck with this game.

I sat down to play and decided to get up and get something to drink first. While I was up, I had left the game sitting at the Weekly Schedule screen.

My 1-year-old decided that it would be fun to chew on the XBox controller. Somehow, she managed to press the right button sequence and SIMMED THE REST OF MY SEASON.

So, yes, I have to start over again.

It's a custom built stadium. I made one in 2004 but have yet to make on in 2005. I plan on doing it after my current season.

Ok...i've started the offseason after going 5-11 this season.
I cut the following players:
Steve Cheek
John Browning
Damon Huard
Larry Johnson
Johnnie Morton
Chris Horn
Julian Battle
Dexter McCleon

I traded the following players
Vonnie Holliday for Darren Sproles (who is a 74 OVR, more than LJ was)
Jerome Woods for Ndukwe Kalu
Traded someone away to get RW McQuarters..I forget who.
Here are the draft results, I picked 6th in the draft.

1. Marcus Spears, DE, LSU 82 OVR
2. Braylon Edwards, WR, Michigan 81 OVR
3. Marlin Jackson, CB, Michigan 78 OVR
4. Lionel Turner, MLB, LSU 72 OVR
5. Matt Payne, P, BYU (6'4 225 lbs..and a MONSTER!) 71 OVR
6. Jaxson Appel, FS, Texas A&M 74 OVR

On to free agency... I really hate this part. Takes forever.

Ok..that went rather quickly. I had to re-sign John Browning once I found out I was screwed at depth at DT.

I signed Dexter Jackson, and converted my 6th pick Jaxson Appel in to a CB

I also signed Mike McMahon..I like that kid. He is my "QBOTF". I'll update with depth chart.
