I'm having a major brain fart....who is the guy that Geno Smith was working out with while the Senior Bowl was taking place? The guy who evidently trained Cam Newton, Cousins, others? Dude just brought up the whole, "he hurt his draft stock by avoiding Senior Bowl" shtick.

Chris Weinke.

And mention that pretty much NONE of the top QBs played in the Senior Bowl. Luck and RG3 didn't.

And ask him how avoiding ONE ****ing game with a bunch of players that he's never played with overwrites everything he's done in his college career. Does not partaking in an offseason "All-Star" game for seniors mean his arm strength, accuracy, lightning quick release, mobility, decision making and pocket presence are non existent now?

You gotta ask these morons questions, thats what I've learned. They never can answer them.

And joeckel was the most dominate (he wrote,"dominate" AHHHH) offensive lineman in the SEC...which is the closest college football gets before the NFL. when joeckel is going to numerous pro bowls and winning awards for being dominate, and geno smith is crying cause the CFL wont even hire him, i dont wanna hear no bitching."

I can come up with a rebuttal to this dumbass, but someone help me out here...a lot of you guys are better at doing this than I am when it comes to Smith and Joeckel.... I have a general idea of what to say, but what do you guys have? THANKS.
You know, this site has weeded out the vast majority of intellectual midgets on this subject. Kind of an oasis in the sprawling desert of stupidity that makes up a lot of a sports team's fan base.

I just wanted to say "Thanks guys. Thanks for being the bastion of sanity in this years draft season."

@NFLosophy: My conclusion on Geno after watching this game: Same as before. He's better at reading defenses than I gave him credit for.

@NFLosophy: Geno's success will hinge on who drafts him. He needs a good OL as he struggles with overcoming pressure. Want to see faster decisions

Talk about stupid.

Every QB struggles with overcoming pressure.

I really want all the anti-Geno people to stay anti-Geno. Will make draft day really fun.

Even if he turns out to be just Alex Smith you draft him. If he's better we get for a lot longer. Alex Smith is a known commodity and won't lead us to the promised land.

Struggles with pressure?

They all do. And Geno saw an absolute ass ton of it this past year as his offensive line was sieve like.

How's this for struggling with overcoming pressure?:

This guy doesn't know his own ass from a hole in the ground.

In terms of retreads I don't know what to think about Alex Smith.

He was having a great statistical year but the 49ers also have an above average running game, a fantastic offensive line (built by the regime for true fans), and really good receiving weapons.

To me, Alex Smith could probably be as good for the Chiefs as Trent Green was.

We didn't really win anything with Trent but we probably could have if Dick stumbled into a competent defense.

I'd still rather just draft Geno...but I don't think Alex Smith is nearly as bad as the Matt Cassel trade was for this franchise. At least Smith has talent, doesn't throw like a girl, and wasn't a college TE.

No he wasn't.

He was averaging 173 yards a game and 1.4 TDs a game. That's 2768 yards and 23 TDs if he finishes the season. Hardly great.
