Unsung heroes of 5-0

Ryan Succop. 10 for 12 this year, and one of them was blocked.

Akeem Jordan. Quietly beasting at the other ILB spot. Does not own any guns, either.

Tyson Jackson. No one can run on us. This is a Super Bowl caliber run defense and he's a key cog.

Quentin Demps. Two INT, and I think he's going to put Kendrick Lewis on the bench by the end of the year.

I don't think Jenkins is necessarily garbage, but he's nothing to write home about yet.

I think we will be looking at a wr early next April

If Dorsey could find a young player off the street to replace him, he'd do it in a heartbeat.

Did you see Reid chew his ass for not blocking downfield for Charles?

How can you tell?

I know whenever another receiver makes a catch, he,s blocking.

I did see that.

Again, I don't think you're necessarily wrong, I just think there's something there with Jenkins in this offense

I'd rather see Hemmingway get those slot reps.

Bowe
Avery
Hemmingway
McCluster
Jenkins

That's not too bad of a receiver corps, if Alex can continue to get comfortable throwing a little past his comfort zone.

As for Alex Smith, his efficiency has dropped off in the last couple of games, and I like it.

He is being more aggressive in attacking secondaries, not consistently settling for the checkdowns, as he has in the last couple of seasons, and in the first couple games.

It's pretty clear he and the receivers are not yet fully on the same page, but even with the lack of scoring output, there's progress.

That will begin to pay dividends as the season moves forward.
All of us that have been detractors will have to eat our crow if he continues.
Yup.

Dude looks like his balls may be dropping. Finally

Did McCluster make any catches today? He's usually good for 2 or 3 chain movers a game.....what happened?

I can't think of a worse receiving corp off the top of my head.

It's pretty bad

Defenses don't fear anyone at all ... 10 men in the box with a single safety deep.

yes, that is partly about Alex Smith but he is good enough to make throws when guys really get open. Our guys just don't do it very often. Also it has to do with our dink and dunk style, large majority of our routes aren't deep.

If Bowe is as poor of a fit in this offense as he appears, then our WR corps is one of the very worst in the league. Bowe is a play-action guy, not a 3-5 WR set guy.

It's easier to overthrow 5-7 receivers.

McCluster really shouldn't try to be an NFL WR. He's mostly useless.
