Will Vick follow Reid as a backup QB?

The Eagles aren't going to keep him with his current contract. He's better than either Cassell or Quinn, and he would prolly come cheap.

I don't want him for a long term solution as a backup, but he beats anything we have on the squad. He said he used to have dreams about playing for the Chiefs while he was in Leavenworth....

He would be one of the league's best backups. Hell yeah.

And since Reid already hinted at using the 1st pick on a QB...why would you be against having Vick as a backup?

I don't want him as backup for the fact that a bunch of maniacs will be calling for him constantly, and it might happen. yuk.

I wouldn't mind picking up Vick because he's a vet who COULD start and play from day 1 if Geno isn't ready.

However, that isn't me saying I want us to go out there and sign him. I'm just not going to cry in my cocoa puffs if he ends up on the roster. Any QB out there that's actually won a few games and had a few legitimately good seasons in the past, is welcome on my roster here with Geno/Wilson/Bray. As long as they know their job isn't to come and start, its to keep the seat warm for when my rookie is ready to play, if he's not out of the box ready.

Vick is only going to go to a place that he has an actual chance to start. Don't see him accepting a backup role in a place like KC unless he can compete for the starting job. I also don't see him following Reid after this terrible season in Philly either.

Theres a chance, personally I don't want him here and I would like another vet who could groom our young QB better than what I think Vick could.

A mediocre QB isn't the reason Reid is unemployed. It was the complete shitshow all around him.

Alex Smith wouldnet be the worst backup. But People would be calling for him to start if Geno/whoever has one bad game.

He certainly is a serviceable QB, and honestly he isn't really a backup, he could start for half the teams in the league. Landing him as a backup would be a solid move anywhere IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if a team like the Cowboys landed him.

Quite sweet. The only problem is that people would call for Alex smith to start after Geno has 1 bad game.
