Will Vick follow Reid as a backup QB?

The Eagles aren't going to keep him with his current contract. He's better than either Cassell or Quinn, and he would prolly come cheap.

I don't want him for a long term solution as a backup, but he beats anything we have on the squad. He said he used to have dreams about playing for the Chiefs while he was in Leavenworth....

So what? He's going to be 2nd string behind Romo, or 3rd string behind Romo and then Orton?

Well, if we had Reid here, I don't think it would be a problem. Fans would be so enamored by the fact that we went and drafted a QB, we'd be more lenient here in KC than any other team in the world. Furthermore, I think Reid would be able to quell the discussion. He's really good at deflection in the media.

Well, I've got the feeling that Orton would find the market shortly, and Smith wouldn't be brought in for a backup so much as QB competition in camp for #1. I think Mr. Jones is going to do that just to shake the dust off of Romo and get his guy to start playing up to the bar Jones has set for him, and using Alex as a cattle prod might just be the tactic Jones uses.

True, Having been in Philly for 14 season, he'd be fine. But still there's fans that really believe that Geno is definitely gonna be the next J Russell. It's quite sad really, how blatantly racist people can be.

I don't think that's really all that racist, you can draw a lot of comparisons to Russel from their college games, and I think that's why a lot of guys like myself are waiting on the Combines, Pro Days, Wonderlics, etc. to come out so we can really get behind a guy. Only time will tell now. That being said, Russel was more of an anomaly than anything, at least in my opinion.

It is when people just straight come out and say, Vince Young, J Russel for no reason.

I liked Vince Young and I feel like with the right support, he'd have continued to develop, didn't happen and that was a shame. If only he could have removed his ego from his game, god he had talent.

But you can Counter with guys like Vick, Newton, RG3 who was really Pick 1B rather than a #2.

I'm not a fan of black QB's at all because of the hype about them and their "athleticism" transitioning from college to the pros, and I don't really think that is exactly racist, but I can at least acknowledge the fact that there is a lot of racism at the QB position specifically from a fans perspective.

Considering Geno has probably the highest IQ of any prospect coming out in the entire draft, any comparison to Vince Young or JaMarcus Russel is almost guaranteed to be skin color related only. Clearly, no research was done. So therefore, it's got some racial overtones which is the nice way of saying it's racist as ****.

How about this; given the utter disaster this past season was for the Chiefs would Clark want the sideshow that is Vick on the roster?

Can't wait to see the Wonderlic results, which if I remember right, Russel was mid 20's.

This. Geno would be teaching Vick things, not the other way around. Pointless.

Vick will probably be starting somewhere actually... Minnesota or Arizona or something. Someone will give him a shot.
