'kay, so... If we sign Sanders...

... and we STILL go WR in the first, who's the most complementary, assuming Bowe and Sanders are starting?
- Beckham?
- Lee?
- Cooks?
- Evans?

We will have:
- Bowe
- Sanders
- Avery (might get cut)
- Hemmingway (or he might get cut)
- Jenkins (likely stays)
- Dressler (may not even make the team)

Thing about Matthews is that he has the size to become a legitimate redzone threat on top of being versatile enough to line up at pretty much any position in this offense at WR.

If we sign Sanders on top of Vance though, I just hope we can fill our FS and OG problem too. I may joke about taking Zack Martin but I don't actually want us to go OL in the 1st (outside of Lewan magically falling to us).

See any WR in the 3rd or later who has the potential to develop into a #1? I feel like Moncrief, Adams, Robinson, and Bryant will all be gone by the time pick 87 rolls around. Washington?

That would honestly mean we're trotting out the highest-invested OL in the league, draft pick wise. I'm not even sure it would be close: 1st rounders at LT and RG, 2nd rounders at LG and C, and a 3rd rounder at RT. God.
I'm just looking at this realistically.

There is no way, no how that the OG and even OT position doesn't get addressed in this draft.

And they will go at it early considering that both Schwartz and Asamoah are gone and only replaced by Linkenbach and they aren't looking at anybody else on the OL in free agency.

That tells me that they are going after the OL early. And you can't tell me that a guy like Zach Martin wouldn't give both Dorsey and Reid the warm fuzzies if he were sitting there at 23. (I don't think he is going to be, unless the WR run happens and he drops.)

Sanders is young and is a proven commodity. That would kill the WR at 23 for the Chiefs. Dinosaur/disco level dead. And seeing as they signed Walker, so is the DL. Dennard will not fall to the Chiefs. Not a chance.

That leaves OLB, S, and OL.

And OL is the biggest need/hole at that point. Now, I think that Zach Martin is a Zane Beadles clone and you would be getting a top level guard, but I really don't think he gets past Miami, who still has a serious need at guard (and even RT).

If I would hazard a guess, the following players will be looked at really hard by the Chiefs at the #23 spot - if they sign Sanders in FA:

Xavier S'ua-Filo (really projects extremely well into Reid's offense)
Kyle Van Noy (his amazing versatility will allow him to lineup either inside or outside in the 34)
Dee Ford (pure ROLB to groom to replace Hali)
Kyle Fuller (depends on how they feel about Cooper's development and long term potential)

Now, if they don't sign Sanders in FA, they will pick between whoever is left from Beckham, Cooks and Lee, or possibly Moncrief, Benjamin, Allen Robinson or Jordan Matthews if those three are off the board.

Mike Davis
Devin Street
Brandon Coleman
Kevin Norwood

all have legitimate #1 WR potential.

Odds are extremely small on all four.

#2 WR is the realistic roof for all four.

I don't think, in my entire time as a Chief fan, that we've ever had 3 legitimate WR threats at the same time.

Eddie K was nice.
Rison was fun.

But there's so many assholes that have held that position for us.

I would love to run 3-4 deep for once.

We need to bring in a quality G of some kind some way. Look at the ****ing DL's we play this year. Damn.

This OL is going to be put to the test this year against the NFC West. But then again I wouldn't mind a David Yankee, Xavier S'ua-Filo or Zach Martin if they come in and become instant quality starters.

This OL worries me.

All three should be quality players. Yankey's lack of power/athleticism is worrisome for a potential 1st rounder, however.

Technically, however, Yankey's fantastic.

Yankey tended to overextend and fall down way too often for me, lol. It was kind of funny watching him play. Hopefully he can learn to keep his balance when he pulls.

I'm hoping we can get a quality G in round 3 who can come in and possibly start.
