Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

I don't consider that camping either. If my team has 1/2 the objectives, I'm defending that objective to burn their tickets until we dip under half; then I'm back with the squad trying to capture the objectives. (this is assuming I'm by myself /without a squad etc)

I've played way too many rounds where I'll be defending a flag, and someone from the other team will run right by the flag (but too far for me to really do anything), not trying to even capture it. or multiple players will do this etc.

I'm hopeful that alot of MW3 guys that switched to BF3 will soon disappear. Too many times I'm on a team where a guy has like 28 kills and 7 deaths, yet we lose because he's just running by himself. When you spawn with him, he runs right by open flags etc. wtf.

I hope they add the map 'Operation:Battleaxe' from BF42 to one of the future map-packs. Just add a crapload of tanks and replace the jets with helis.

I played Rush mode for the first time yesterday.

Pretty dang fun. I was only able to play 3 rounds, but managed to end up on a good team/squad. So, I'm not sure if the runner/gunners/non-team oriented guys are more likely to play Conquest mode or if it was just coincidence.

It was a nice change up. the last handful of conquest rounds have been brutal if you somehow end up on a free for all squad.

Don't know if any of you are experiencing it more, but in the last day or so I've been seeing the invincibility glitch too much for my liking. And when the **** are they going to patch the stupid tactical lights and laser blindness crap???

Happened to me once. I think it happens when you revive too many people too quick. You show up as your enemy to both teams (which makes you look friendly to your enemy, obviously) and neither team can shoot you. So basically, you can run around and kill the whole enemy team with impunity. I was really confused when it happened to me and felt dirty taking advantage of the glitch after I got like 10 free kills so I just stood there and they finally blew me up with RPGs I think.

I think Pants is right in that it happens when someone (a teammate most likely) kills you and revives you a couple of times quickly. Your team status disappears (no icon above your head and no name) and you become essentially invincible. Like Pants, it happened to me by accident last night and it felt like cheating, fortunately I was killed with explosives pretty quickly. Explosives or running someone over with a vehicle is the only way to eliminate them. I ran over a guy on my team the other night and later blew him up....by accident of course. He was doing it in nearly every match. Funny though, they were complaining about people boosting. Boosting is bad enough if your desperate enough to rank up...whatever, but purposely going invincible is pathetic and cheating.

yeah, that's lame. why would someone even bother playing the game if all they're doing is boosting and taking advantage of glitches. waste of time and money at the point.No idea why people would do this.

I wonder if there will be an influx of new players, and dumb players (not that there's a correlation) on Christmat/Christmas break etc..
