If the Chiefs go 8-8 or better 49ers get a 2nd round pick.

A third- or second-rounder from Kansas City, the remnant of the Alex Smith deal. Now it can be told: The second draft choice San Francisco will receive from the Smith deal will be K.C.'s second-rounder in 2014 if the Chiefs go 8-8 or better this season. It will be a third-rounder in 2014 if Kansas City is under .500 this season.

So: San Francisco will probably have first-, second- and four third-rounders next year. But if the Chiefs surprise, it'll more likely be a one, two twos and three threes. As we've seen, GM Trent Baalke is dangerous with extra picks in his hands. If Colin Kaepernick is very good, the Niners should be annual contenders for years with the picks laid out that way.

Really? It does? So dorsey went and got a head coach that his players dont like, and was an unproven head coach? And they went and got a qb that was with the gm? So the chiefs went and got Matt Flynn? No, they got a qb the head coach wanted.

Nothing that dorsey is doing, was like what pioli did. Dorsey did not reach for a player that was supposed to be first round, not top 5, he got what many people thought to be 1, or 1a in the draft. They filled all of their holes, while doing it with YOUNGER players in their primes. Not players like VRABEL, who was worse than done when he got here.

They filled the roster with players like Sean Smith, who had a huge market, no matter HOW BAD Clay tries to tell you he was. Dunta Robinson, who was a cap casualty. They locked up their all pro wide receiver, while bolstering the Tight end position. They changed philosophies from passive to aggressive, on both sides of the ball. Nothing, NOTHING is similar to the chiefs of 09, to now, except that Chiefs fans so butt hurt by having the first pick, and not having a franchise qb to draft at one. There is a plan in place, that you just refuse to acknowledge........Its okay.

same genre, completely different movie. Completely different. The sooner you let this personal hate thing with me go, and just look at the proof that is out there, the better off your sanity will be. You wont even objectively look at what Im saying. You see the name Alex Smith Fan, and you just go berserk.

I would agree with you, if Alex Smith was the ONLY significant move you made this offseason, you would be picking number one again.

if you arent going to try to tell anyone about their team, how come you have such a problem with anyone saying anything positive about alex smith?

I dont have to be a chiefs fan, to appreciate the chiefs team as a whole. Alex Smith is just not the piece of dog shit that you want to claim. Thats all i was saying.

They do? Is that why him and Boldin had a public shouting match and that no one in arizona was sad to see him leave? Or was that why there was repeated reports of him and big ben not getting along last year in Pitts?

Because they were all GUSHING about him?

Todd Haley, is a prick.

Lives and dies? WTF? You support your team about as well as your division rivals would. Great job with that. Chiefs are so lucky to have you in their corner. What team wouldn't want their fans to hate on them every day and act without an ounce of class? Great fan!

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
