We are flying out and hanging with the Buehlers this weekend....

I will have to ask him and his old man about that. BTW, They have their own private grass strip there in Scott and Old Man Buehler has a beautiful original 60"s model 182 that is immaculate... I think it was produced in 67? Old Man Buehlers dad bought it new. I have seen the original hand bill for it. Crazy...

Wow.

I hope it wasn't his dad that got busted.

I used to fly a 182 that was that old. I ****ing hated that plane. The DG was a glorified compass, the radio worked most of the time, and if I pulled the carb heat the engine wanted to shut down.

Thank goodness they sold that POS.

Holy moly. That's about 10 times what I would've expected.

Here's some airplane trading site and it's showing prices in the high 40s for planes that are 60 or 70 years old: http://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?...-seq=2&s-lvl=2

I don't get it. Why are they so expensive? There's not that much technology behind them. It seems like you could recreate them quite easily. Is it legal liability stuff? Do they make newer versions of this plane?
