Let's Hear Your Alex Smith Trade Predictions

Predict:

1. What team we trade him to. (Or do you think we cut him?)

2. What compensation we get.

I don't know if people still like Casino Cash, but I'm willing to give a significant chunk of mine to the winner.

Send his ass to the highest non division bidder. If Jacksonville loses today, I think he'll be headed to Florida for a pair of 2nds

Jets also a possibility. Don't see Cleveland. They have their pick of the litter in the draft

I think he will ultimately land in Jacksonville and they will give up a 2nd rounder for him.

He stays in KC for 1 more year. Because Chiefs. Plus Reid has an unnatural love affair with mediocrity.

It will be interesting but I'd sure hate to have to pay for Alex in the upcoming year, no matter how desperate It may look for the Jags I don't think they are going to make a lateral move. Gruden may sell Carr to Jacksonville or Denver and snatch Smith up, or another unforeseen variant of such: We never know. ****, Jerry jomnes may decide he wants him. OK that's bullshit
The Chiefs are somewhat predictable and I'm saying he will be here next year. There is always someone willing to do stupid things but there are only 31 options and less than 10% of the 32 may even kick the tires.

We will either give him away (cheap) or like the dealership's GSM's ,ugly duckling, trade that he fell in love with. You market the piss out of it, promise hookers and blow for a spiff, but eventually accept it's there for a while. Smith's not going anywhere in a trade unless management wants to take the hit just to wash their hands of him, and that's not happening. He'll be on the books next year, the question is in what capacity. Look at Dawson's last few years where he shared starting duties with Livingston, much like I have suggested in earlier post could happen with Smith.

And understandably. I doubt they only have Smith as an option, I feel sorry for them if they don't. Bortles will be there next year before they drop $$$$ on Bortles' twin brother Smith.

Alex Smith can get at least $10m per year in the open market. The Chiefs shouldn't pay that. And Alex Smith won't want what the Chiefs would pay him to be a backup. And I and especially mahomes don't want to deal with all the Alex buttmunchers that will root against mahomes if Alex is our backup. Your opinion, I respect that but you can't speak for Mahomes, he speaks highly of Smith. Think Dawson/Livingstone in his later years... I bet you would have taken a 4th pick for him too.

Thinking we'll keep Alex as a backup, or that he'd want that, or that he'd do this for cheap are all delusional. Hmm Alex isn't about the money but the quality of life at this point, He'll be open to conversation as to making a deal to stay in KC til he retires.
I think Alex would make a great Co starting QB who would mentor both Mahomes and our number 3 who will probably be worthless to start with. I think the job is perfect for him. But I am crazy,

If you are adding Peters to the deal you might as well throw in Andy as a freebie!

I'm torn on Peters. He is one of a kind playmaker on defense. But he is so unpredictable. I love him as a weapon but is he worth the risk?

That said, Peters could bring more than just a first round pick, IMO. Especially to the Raiders. I wonder if something like a first and their injured rookie cornerback (Conley) for Peters is something that could work to our benefit?

Same with Smith. A second rounder and another young starter for the defense sounds like something I could live with.

I think we need to reload more than rebuild. I'd like to see Veach have some ammo going into the draft. Trading Peters sounds crazy but if it could help us get better across the board I might be open to it.

Watching Bortles, you gotta figure Jacksonville is desperate for a solid QB. They have a great defense and Bortles will do nothing.

Wonder if teams will sit and wait for Smith to be released by the Chiefs rather than trade away picks. Just as they did with Romo

Sure, but no reason KC can't wait until a starting QB goes down in August.

Except for the part where they probably want Mahomes to have the vast majority of practice reps in the offseason. I am guessing they will find someone who really needs a solid QB and is willing to trade for Alex pretty soon.

Jacksonville is going to be a very obvious landing spot if they lose this game. Bortles is certainly not winning it for them. Defense is gonna have to start scoring TD's or something.

Oh I have no doubt they will find a trade partner and he's gone. But they have the flexibility to sit on him for awhile and I don't think Andy would care if he's around till camp to help Pat more.

There will be multiple suitors, so it's pointless talk.
