Quarterbackery: Round 1, Heat 15

Today we pit the league's most mobile team against a team that's only one state away from Mobile. I present to you the LosAngeSaintClevelesLouland Rams versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers have only existed for 40 years, so I'll present percent of time period for comparison.

LosAngeSaintClevelesLouland (currently Los Angeles)

Marc Bulger - 8 (16% of time period)
Jim Everett - 8 (16% of time period)
Roman Gabriel - 7 (led team for 8 seasons, but only 7 since 1966) (14% of time period)
Sam Bradford - 4 (8% of time period)
Pat Haden - 4 (8% of time period)
Kurt Warner - 3 (6% of time period)
Tony Banks - 3 (6% of time period)
Vince Ferragamo - 3 (6% of time period)
James Harris - 3 (6% of time period)
Chris Miller - 2 (4% of time period)
Nick Foles - 1 (and current starter) (2% of time period)
Austin Davis - 1 (2% of time period)
Dieter Brock - 1 (2% of time period)
Jeff Kemp - 1 (2% of time period)
John Hadl - 1 (2% of time period)

They produced 12 pro bowls, led by Roman Gabriel and Kurt Warner with 3 each.

Tampa Bay

Trent Dilfer - 5 (13% of time period)
Vinny Testaverde - 5 (13% of time period)
Doug Williams - 5 (13% of time period)
Josh Freeman - 4 (10% of time period)
Brad Johnson - 3 (8% of time period)
Steve Deberg - 3 (8% of time period)
Jeff Garcia - 2 (5% of time period)
Craig Erickson - 2 (5% of time period)
Jameis Winston - 1 (and current starter (3% of time period))
Josh McCown - 1 (3% of time period)
Mike Glennon - 1 (3% of time period)
Bruce Gradkowski - 1 (3% of time period)
Chris Simms - 1 (3% of time period)
Brian Griese - 1 (3% of time period)
Shaun King - 1 (3% of time period)
Steve Young - 1 (3% of time period)
Jack Thompson - 1 (3% of time period)
Gary Huff - 1 (3% of time period)
Steve Spurrier - 1 (3% of time period)

They produced 4 pro bowlers (scales up to 5 in 50 years), one each by Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Jeff Garcia, and Jameis Winston.

My thoughts:

Okay, first, the Rams only had Kurt Warner as their leading passer for three years? Three years? Tony Banks did that. Yeesh. This team has had stability, but other than Kurt's lightning flash, they've never had a real strength at quarterback. I'll begrudgingly rate them as average, but I could see them falling into to somewhat weak category pretty easily. Bulger and Everett are your icons? Tsk-tsk.

And as for the Buccaneers, how did they ever win a Super Bowl? That lineup is terrible, and it's only made worse by the fact that we see Steve Young leading the team for precisely one season before being traded. This is an abomination of a quarterback situation. I would rate them very weak.

Bulger had enough talent to take that team back to the super bowl if Martz hadnt been such an idiot

They couldnt have asked for a better replacement for Warner

I don't remember Bulger at all, other than the name.

I think Winston will end up being better than any QB on that list from either team.
