Cancer Center rebrands chemotherapy as "Superformula"

Children’s Cancer Center Rebrands Chemotherapy As “Superformula”
They also redesigned the cancer ward to look like a Super Friends Hall of Justice. An amazing idea.

The A.C.Camargo Cancer Center in São Paulo, is a client of the Brazilian office of worldwide ad agency JWT. Warner Bros. is also a client of JWT. Out of these business arrangements, a truly inspiring idea was created.
From the ad agency press note:
Covers for intravenous bags were constructed based on characters from the Justice League, creating…a child-friendly version of the treatment. Co-developed with doctors, the covers are easy to sterilize and handle and meet all hospital hygiene standards.
(The) experience went far beyond the covers by also providing a new look to the entire Children’s Ward: the game room was turned into the Hall of Justice, corridors and doors were decorated in the same theme, and the exterior acquired an exclusive entrance for these little heroes.

JWT even worked with Warner Bros. to produce a special series of comic books in which the Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern go through experiences similar to those of kids with cancer, and recover their strength, thanks to the Superformula.
As any good cancer doctor will tell you, the most important step in fighting the disease is believing in a cure.
This three-way collaboration is one of the best branding ideas I’ve ever seen.
See the video below.

Did your neighbor die from the treatments, or the condition the treatments were for?

So what is your plan if you get cancer? Just let it be and hope for the best? Natural remedy? Give me an example of a natural remedy you would be interested in. Please don't say Rick Simpson oil.

Like it or not, many people who beat cancer thanks to chemo end up succumbing to conditions brought on by the chemo itself.

It's a cause of death as often as it is a cure. It's not a good option. It's the only option.

Except for the guy I knew with stage II lung cancer. He just ignored it and it went away. Probably not the best method for treating cancer.

Sometimes you say some stupid shit.
1) I think it's great that medicine is doing all it can to help kids who are already scared and sick feel better. Less fear = more hope. I don't think the mentality of any sick person and what impact that has on their recovery can be overstated.

2) There's more I dislike about how we treat cancer than what I like. All the more reason to applaud when new ideas and approaches are tried...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yeah and considering how awful chemotherapy is, if packaging it like this makes it less scary for a kid, hell it's a pretty good idea.

You obviously haven't been around someone undergoing chemo treatments.

You are correct.

However, both of my grandmothers had breast cancer and my 2 oldest friends mothers died of cancer.

I'm aware of the fact that chemo sucks, but my point is that it's supposed to remove the cancer. So, doing just as much damage as cancer seems to be an incorrect statement. Yes, I'm also aware that there are complications from chemo.

It kills all cells, healthy and cancerous, in which it comes into contact. It doesn't know the difference. It's job is to prevent cells from reproducing and doesn't differentiate.

Yes, it has saved many lives, but it is torture.
