Poop Gross Sewer backed up ....

I took a late afternoon nap yesterday which made sleeping difficult last night. I slept maybe 3-4 hours at most. The bedroom was humid and I was sweating.

I slept like crap all night and I REALLY didn't want to go to work this morning. At 5:30 AM my girlfriend wakes me up....Honey, we have a serious problem in the basement. I'm thinking the little leak, we normally have when it rains, got bigger and she's just freaking out about it.

"The sewer is backed up and there's poo all over the basement."

I'm thinking. ok, she's probably over reacting. So I get dressed and go down to look.

She wasn't joking. Sewer backed up and had 2-3 inches of poo, pee, tampons, and god knows what else covering my basement. My basement isn't finished but we have computers, tv's, washer, dryer, workout equipment,etc. It's about 1300-1400 square feet!

Call the plumber and he never shows up.

Call the second plumber and he shows up at 10:45 AM.

Meanwhile my house smells like the sewer and I'm frantically trying to get a couple sump pumps working.

Plumber got the drain fixed and I spend the rest of the afternoon bleatching and lysoling the floors and walls.

3 Damn inches of nasty crap!!!!! I ended up going through 1 pair of rubber boots, 2 pairs of tennis shoes, 4 pairs of socks, and 3 showers.

After about 20 minutes my nose got used to the smell so it wasn't so bad, but at first I almost passed out while gagging.

Yuck!

Had to tell someone and since ya'll like poop threads.....

Been there. Thankfully, it was a rental property. Unthankfully, it was a finished basement. I recommend you have a backflow preventer installed before it happens again.

Don't waste your money on plumbers. You only have to know 3 things to be a plumber. 1. Shit won't run uphill 2. Payday's Friday 3. The boss is a SOB. Oh, and hot's on the left, cold on the right.
