I played Madden 2k1 last night and played the first 2 games of the season twice...
First time I played using MY offensive sets, and Cloud/Moreau at HB, TRich at FB, and used 3WR set, 1-back, and mixed things up a bit. Final scores: KC 27 Indy 24, KC 24 Tenn 7 I then replayed the games, using the RBBC (split carries evenly between DB,TR,KA,FM, and MC), mostly I formation. Passed primarily to the "hot" reciever. I basically played EXACTLY like the Chiefs do in real life. Final scores: Indy 34 KC 7 and Tenn 21 KC 0 NOTE: These were done on the hardest settings possible, using the same exact settings for all 4 games. ------------------ Parker ChiefsPlanet Administrator [i]Jimmy Raye for President...anything to get him out of Kansas City</I> |

I'm still playing Madden 2000 on PC, and I recently crushed the Rams 247-0. Seriously. Green had about 125 yds. passing w/ 15 INTs. Faulk had -30 rushing yards.
Grbac averages about 600-700 YPG passing & about 10 TDs, 0 INTs. TR rushes for about 250 YPG and over 10 TDs in every game. Alexander had over 4,000 yards receiving & over 50 TDs after week 10. Gonzalez has fewer than 10 catches all season. These types of stats occur on any setting, including all-Madden. These games aren't realistic at all!! ------------------ This is my signature!! There are many like it but this one is mine!! |

I am with you ht. Even if the games aren't realistic....neither is Raye's play calling.

Clint,
I didn't play 2k too much, but 2k1 includes the ability to further alter the difficulty of the game by adjusting "AI Sliders". You can adjust alot of game settings like rushing ability and stuff, just like you can with penalties. It's pretty cool, and it makes the games ALOT harder than they used to be. ------------------ Parker ChiefsPlanet Administrator [i]Jimmy Raye for President...anything to get him out of Kansas City</I> |

I came out last night against SD with the same "Jimmy Raye" game plan and lost 24-20, despite sacking Ryan Leaf 8 times. Parker fumbled a punt return that hurt me, and Elvis threw 2 INTs in the red zone, or I would have won.
So, going into my game 4 at Mile High, I decided to run Donnell more, and give TRich more carries. Donnell finish with 21 carries for 94 yards, and TRich 16 for 75. I won 24-12. Seems to me that the Chiefs play better when someone, anyone (yes, even Donnell) gets the majority of the carries. ------------------ Parker ChiefsPlanet Administrator [i]Jimmy Raye for President...anything to get him out of Kansas City</I> |
