Only a crap shoot that means nothing when they lose eh? We know they weren't the best team that year.

A single elimination tournament that serves only to maximize the host network's profit margin by selecting more marketable teams in larger conferences or television markets instead of ones who've played superior competition.

It's extremely watered down and incredibly exploitative of the amateur athletes that play in it and a totally arbitrary way of crowning a "champion."

A true championship can only be claimed when the best teams play each other in two or three sets of a best-of-three series.

So the NFL playoffs are an exhibition event as well? Gotcha.

So the 2005 Steelers and 2007 Giants were the best teams in the NFL in those respective seasons.

Um, nice try. The "gay U" slurs have come from your students and alums all these years, not Missouri State fans in Springfield.

To be fair, that could have come from any fan base.

It came primarily from Mizzou and I've witnessed it for many decades. Frankly, KU has always been a gay friendly place. But Mizzou fans doing a complete 180 is absolutely hilarious.

If it had been Aqib Talib coming out, we all know how Mizzou fans would've reacted.

1) Missouri State has no fans (and this is coming from a Missouri Stater).
2) We have no beef with KU. Many of our undergrads go to Lawrence to get their MBA/JD/MD.

Maybe it's just the KU gays they don't like. Do any of the Kansas State or Oklahoma State gays get these types of insults from Mizzou fans and/or students? Those students probably were applauded like anybody else. Can't trust anyone from KU, gay or straight.

Sounds like you are just taking it out of context.

Yes. In fear because his mom would have been threatening to shoot people.

I've been in KC for over 40 years and I've talked to literally thousands of alums from different schools in the region over the years. And the "gay slurs" came almost exclusively from Mizzou. Exclusively. And you know what? It wasn't an unfair attack, because Lawrence was gay-friendly even back when I attended.

You're missing the real issue here: the state (my state no less since I'm from here) is or at least was heavily conservative about the gay issue. Undeniably. So was Mizzou. Until one football player came out. It's such a total joke watching the standing O.

This implies you've heard the "Gay U" before. Of course, there's not one Mizzou fan who hasn't. As for "Phag" there are 26 pages worth of references on Tigerboard:
http://tigerboard.com/boards/dosearc...s=phag&x=0&y=0

26 pages. Just that one term. I could pull up thousands & thousands of posts if we expand the search to "gay U" or anything derogatory about homosexuals.
