Andy Reid on draft day.

This thread will document Eagles draft day trades since Andy Reid arrived in Philly.

2012

Traded up from 15 to 12 with Seattle for a 4th and a 6th.
Traded down from 51 to 59 with Green Bay for an additional 4th.
Traded down from 76 and their 99th to Houston for the 88 and DeMeco Ryans.
Traded up from 223 to 200 with New England for LB Tracy White and a 7th.

I'd rather see that than a 2 this year and a 3 next year.

Give us a 2 and a good starter at a position of need and that would surely lessen the blow.
I've been thinking that Albert may be part of a deal with the Eagles for a trade down from our first. I was thinking (not wanting, though) that they might be giving up our first and Albert for the Eagles first and second and Foles this year and the Eagles first (and hopefully, second) next year.

Peters blew out his achilles tendon twice last year and didn't play a down. The rest of their line sucked.

This would allow Reid to get his bookend tackles by selecting Eric Fisher and Terron Armstead in the first and second rounds. Our line (which Reid values higher than most coaches) would be set, would be young, and have quality depth.

If the Eagles trade for Albert, you are most likely going to see Foles and one of the Reynolds boys (most likely Matt versus Dallas) or Matt Tennent (depending upon Hudson's broken leg recovery - which should be fine based on information after it happened) on that deal. Reid is not going to leave a OT spot open to a rookie. He might draft one after such a trade, but I seriously doubt that he'll leave the blind side right off the bat to a rook.

And I've said it before, Don Stephenson, if he stayed in school, would have been the first round OT out of Oklahoma that people would be talking about, not Lane Johnson. The guy is big, athletic and has very nice feet.

I can see the Eagles attempting a trade for Albert depending upon his salary demands, but I can't see the Chiefs not making an effort to get him resigned to a long term deal at this point. A bird in hand, as the saying goes, and you never know what you are going to get out of a rookie. Albert is a known commodity at this point.

Personally, I see the offensive line like this:

LT: Albert
LG: Schwartz
C: Hudson
RG: Asamoah
RT: Stephenson

Allen is the #1 reserve and Mattison #2. They'll likely draft another inside guy and tackle.

Just curious, what is it about this draft-day trade history that makes you wonder that?

I don't know why they would have signed Daniel if they thought they were going to be able to get Foles. And now that they have Daniel, I'm not sure they'd want Foles that much (unless Reid is really in love with him, of course). I would think that they'd like the 3rd spot to be for a developmental guy.

For extra credit who would be willing to figure out what players Reid took vs. the players Reid could have had if we stayed put?

There was one instance where the Saints traded with him and ended up taking Bushrod.
