Don't have the numbers to back it up, but I read that Shelby had terrible splits against the Pirates this year which factored into the decision.

Although I agree, no way you can defend starting Lynn..... Lets get the series won first before we worry about the NLCS rotation.

After all our karma is still good. I do think we need a more hate filled rant of Holliday from Frazod to kick start the karma on Wednesday.

0-4 in his 4 starts against Pitt. He was the pitcher of record in all of them. Although it looks like he only got lit up in the last lost, the other 3 he pitched decently and the Cards just didn't score.

I just Fangraphed them to see. Certainly not all that impressive.

I just hate facing the Pirates because the mother****ers are lab-grown to beat us. We are a line drive hitting team with little over-the-fence power, and they are a collection of slap hitters with some legitimate mashing potential, and they're almost all speedy as hell. After losing in St. Louis, I thought the series was done. If we can't win a winner take all against god damn AJ Burnett with our ace on the mound, we don't deserve to move on anyway.
