Clemson gets big, big ratings in football, and they even support their basketball team decently. This isn't like North Carolina which is split 3 ways and apathetic about football, or the northeast which are pro towns that don't care about college sports, there are a ton of Clemson fans in South Carolina, and they all watch their Tigers on saturday. That school is worth a lot.

North Carolina is not "apathetic" about football. They've had success in the past and the fan base is so large that as soon as the football program starts getting any tread they take off. Very similar to KU.

I've stated many, many times that UNC should be the school you're going after over Clemson. They are an extremely attractive school.

Newest rumor this morning is that CBS will effectively double their contract payout to the SEC if Slive petitions for conference semi final games and adding a team in each of the Virginia (VPI is the main target) and North Carolina (UNC is the main target) markets. This might mean it is the SEC, not the Big 12, that actually moves to expand first. It also probably signals an acceleration to 16 for the major conferences and the end of the ACC as we know it.

If the newest rumor happens, I hope the big 12 decides to go to 16 also. Add FSU, Clemson, Miami, ND, GT, and the Virginia team the sec doesn't want. They wouldn't get SEC money(probably 40-50) but I think they could get 30-35 per team.
