Anyone out there ever been to a Fry's Electronics store?

If you have not I will try to let you in on one of the best F****** Electronic Superstores I have EVER been in PERIOD.

I went to the one in Vegas down at the end of "The Strip".

This is the 2nd time I've been there but it just Blows my mind how flipping huge this place is and how much stuff is in there.

Take an average sized Wal-Mart Store (Non-WalMart SuperCenter) and make it into a complete electronics store with the greatest pricing I have seen that matches anything you see online INCLUDING NEWEGG.

Here is my story of purchases out there in the last two weeks.

My wife and I went there with my parents because the WU and I decided to buy a new digital camera (dc) and the selection of digital cameras took up 3 short isles with about 15 to 20 on each short isle. We had every major brand to choose from ranging from $50 to $2000+

We bought one for $350 and were pretty damn happy with it for the pictures it takes and the small size it has compared to the Sony CD-1000 I have now that is a monster. Anyway we bought it a day AFTER we got to Vegas and come up Sunday the 3rd the Ads came out in the Vegas Review Journal and I found the Best Buy ad that had the SAME camera for $50 less. I looked at Fry's ad from the previous Friday and find out that they give 110% of difference price on any advertised price from a competitor for up to 30days.

Well I had some good fortune at the Casinos on Saturday so when I went down there to get my $50 refund the WU tells me on the way out the door to look at the Digital Video Cameras.

After getting my $60 or so credited BACK to our Credit Card for the difference in price I go back to the Digital Video Cameras that have about the same amount of space and the just short of the same amount of cameras as the digital cameras. Well I find the JVC Digital Video camera I have been eyeballing and just so happened to have the BestBuy ad still in hand. Fry's had the same model JVC I wanted and it was retail priced at $799 and the BestBuy ad was $599. The guy that helped me goes into his terminal and finds that it has already been reduced to $569 in store because of BestBuys ad. SOLD right then and there.

Man this place is like a candy store to a kid. Anything you want for just about the butt cheapest price you can find anywhere.

Had to share the story cause I don't get deals like that where I live. Fry's will meet AND beat any advertised price on identical items.

I live less than a mile from a Fry's Electronics. Yes they do have a great selection and prices. Sometimes customer service is lacking but they have the best selection.

Yeah, I've been there. I've spent a lot of money there. I don't think there is one here in KC though.

Do they have any of those in the south? Otherwise I'll stick with newegg. Actually I'll stick with them anyway.

WE have nebraska furniture mart, that should dwarf most fry's stores.. That building is what 200k square feet of sales floor and I heard they are adding on...

I wish they'd open up a Fry's nearby. Not a week goes by that I don't see an incredible deal for something I'm interested in, especially their game software prices.

Its been a really long time since I have been there but I don't remember the Nebraska Furniture Mart electronics store (whatever its called) being nearly as large as frys.

Edit: was thinking of Omaha.

outpost.com is owned by frys. or vice versa. i loved the place, i wish they had them down here in charlotte.

Yeah, there is Fry's out here.

I have shopped there a few times, but I really try to avoid those places like the plague. Waaaay to F'ing busy and all they have is a pack of kids running the store.

If you know what you want, and they do have some great sales, due to the volume they purchase at.....get in get what you want and promptly leave...
